As I run through the forest I don't care about the noise I make. Anyone can take me and it wouldn't matter because no one cares about my life anymore. The only thing I can wish for is finding a safe place for my children and I away from the world that depresses me.
I head towards the town and stay hidden through the alleyways and the rooftops. It's nearly breaking dawn and the town is silent except for a couple of drunk kids and a few cars driving home or to men going to sleep with their mistresses.
"I don't live with parents. I have my own apartment." Danaya's voice pops into my head and I think about it. I didn't listen to her when she told me to stay away from her family and I ended up even more hurt and yearning for Alec than ever before. I can't transform back so I continue to run as quietly a possible in the back of buildings.
I wind around and around until I get to the street where I can detect Danaya. Thank God for heightened senses.
I knew I couldn't go to the front of the narrow bungalow so I decide to scratch the back of it instead. I could feel footsteps from the inside of the home, heavy sleepy footsteps which meant I probably woke her up. When I hear the lock click and the knob twist I take a couple more steps back as it swings open and Danaya sees me.
"Oh my-"
"Yes I know. Can I come in?" I ask, transforming back and thankfully the dark coveted most of me.
"Why are you here."
"Your brother. He's an ass and I need a place to stay where he'll never detect me.""Okay come on in." She says, widening the door.
"Thanks."
