Fear courses through my veins as I watch Valentina running towards the forest as I run behind her. I could easily outrun her, but what I saw forced me to just stay out of her way. The way her eyes flickered from it's usual nutmeg brown to a strange bright yellow.
She's turning.
Whatever happened in that house pulled that trigger and produced enough energy for her to burst, I've never seen something like that before. No wolf besides my brother and I have turned without the full moon and the ceremony. I fear that whatever anger she's holding will be enough to have her change, and it's dangerous without the rest of the pack to help her contain her newfound strength.
"Valentina. I said stop," she continues to walk, her fists balled and the veins in her arms more visible. Then it hit me, the twins.
"Valentina," I shout, speeding in front of her. Spit is dribbling from her mouth now and her eyes are completely yellow. My fears are coming true and I couldn't do anything now but watch, she's too far gone. I move out of her way as she runs towards her spot in the forest, knowing her, that's where she'd want to turn for the first time.
By the time I get there, she's leaning onto the tree screaming in pain. I couldn't help her, and for the first time in forever, I'm helpless.
Hey readers of Metamorphosis, I know, this chapter is crazy short but trust and believe you'll be getting more soon.
