Melody's P.O.V

I'm sick of the rumours that were floating around about me stealing Izabelle's man. I tried to tell a few of my friends that it was far more complicated than that but, they wanted me to explain it to them, and y'all know me, I is not into explaining shit to nosey ass people. My business is my business!

I lost a few friends because of it, but I ain't let it bother me. If they were truly my friends, they would have stayed by my side.

"As cute as you look when you frown, I'd prefer it if you smile."

I looked at Richie and roll my eyes, he can be so cheesy sometimes. I sighed, leaning into him as we sat and watched our daughter playing on the slide in the playground. It was a very nice afternoon, so instead of staying home, we decided to take Megan out to enjoy the fresh air.

As I watched her tiny feet try to climb the short ladder, I felt my heart constricted. It still hurts me that I went a year without even knowing I had a daughter, and to think my family would keep something like that from me. I don't think I'd ever be able to forgive them.

"She's so beautiful, I just met her but I love her so much."

Richie's hands tightened around me as we snuggled up on the picnic blanket that we brought with us.

"What do you expect, her mother is beautiful and she loves you just the same."

I knew he was right, but I still felt guilty for not knowing about her, I mean, I'm her mother, I carried her in me, even if I was in a coma for all of it. I still should have known.

"Do you think she'll hate me for not knowing when she gets older?"

Richie turned me so that I was facing him, he held my face in my palms then peck me on the lips. His eyes full of sincerity as he spoke.

"She'll never hate you, she'll know that if you had known about her you'd never have left her."

I nodded my head, needing to believe him. I loved my baby so much and I knew that it would take me some time to come to terms with everything that happened.

Giving up on climbing the ladder, Megan turned her interest to some small pebbles in the sand. She picked up a few and inspected them with keen interest. Richie and I laughed when she decided that that was much more fun than playing with the other kids. She took up a seat on the sand and went to work digging up more pebbles.

"Looks like we'll have to give her a good scrubbing when she gets home."

Richie's eye twinkled, moving my hair aside he kissed my neck and I felt myself melt against him.

"I have a better idea; why don't I give both of my girls a scrub?"

I laughed, "Is you trying to seduce me, white boy?"

He was about to answer me, but someone cast a shadow over us and we both look up. A few girls from college were standing there giving us dirty look, some of them were girls I was friends with, and the others were Izabelle's friends. I quickly looked over to make sure Megan was ok and saw that she was happily playing in the sand.
