The Experiment looked outside. She smiled at the bright stars and moon that lit up the dark sky. She always wanted to be a star; to shine down and be something so beautiful despite the darkness.

The thought made her sad though. She knew she wasn't a star, she wasn't even the blinding the sun that burnt anything who came to close. She was the wind that everyone hated. She uprooted trees and killed people. She was what destroyed beautiful things without ever being seen. She was a hurricane, not a rainbow.

Glad to know that you're aware of how ugly you are, Andria's voice hissed.

Stop it!  E screamed at the girl. I'm sorry that you ended up with me but that doesn't make it okay to suddenly taunt me. You know me; you know everything so you know that I don't want to be here either. Why are suddenly so cruel anyway? You understood before we escaped. Even though the young woman could see her companion's thoughts she couldn't understand them.

Looking in the mirror made me realize that we're both monsters so I'm just playing my part.

"I'm not a monster!" E screamed once again but this time her words didn't stay in her head. She heard the sound of shattering glass from the hall.

Keep telling yourself that when you  take the life of innocent children. E covered her ears but she knew that she couldn't keep out the voice. Her nails dug into her scalp and she could feel drips of blood on the tips of her fingers.

I not a weapon; I'm not a monster. I just want to be normal. The Experiment could taste salty tears as they ran down her face.

E heard Drew's voice from the door but she didn't want to listen to him. "Get out!" She yelled pushed out her hand. The door slammed even though it wasn't touched. She a deep rage rise from the pit of her stomach.

Get angry; see what happens. You are a bomb and you explode no matter what you do. Fight it all you want but you will become the weapon you so are so afraid of. The girl's was menacing and E tried to refuse to accept the words that she knew were true. That's why you're scared to be away from the facility. You know what will happen. Sure it may be years from now until you snap but it could also be tonight. You need to accept that you aren't afraid of death; no, no , no! You are afraid of killing because you that when you feel that energy run up you're spine; when you feel that sensation of watching the life drain out of someones eyes, you'll never be able to stop.

Stop! E didn't want to think about it because she knew it was true.

I guess they did too good of a job, Andria laughed.

The Experiment lay under soft blankets and on a pillow that her head slowly sunk into. She tried to focus on those things but she couldn't Andria or the building anger.

I wish I was dead instead of stuck with a monster that shouldn't have ever seen the light of day. The words pushed E over edge. She only saw red as she screamed in pain. She dug at her scalp with sharp nails that pulled out strips of skin and chunks of hair. Crimson blood soon filled the space under her nails.

She didn't hear Drew walk in and scream. She didn't realize that he tried to pull her hands away. She only heard the sickening crack of his skull against the wall. She only saw the blood that slowly oozed from the back of his head.

E covered her mouth with her bloody hands as she realized what she'd done. The doctor was gasping for breath but she knew he wouldn't survive. The man painfully looked E in the eyes. He tried to speak but his words were cut off by his own death. E watched as the light disappeared from his brown eyes.

E stared at her bloodstained hands in shock and terror. "I'm sorry," she whispered with a shaky voice. "I...I didn't mean it!" Her emotions suddenly jumped from mousey regret to anger but then a rush of satisfaction consumes her.

Told you you'd snap, Andria giggled. Let's see how long you can resist the urge to kill again.
