Oh deary oh my this had been sitting in my drafts for a bit. So basically Crystal Palace is a roller skating place that I went to awhile ago and something similar to this happens and poof! A one shot is born! Btw, this is a muggle AU
What-do-you-mean-they-don't-live-in-a-castle: (I may have forgotten this for several hours) Within this Muggle Au, Harry is someone who has never been roller skating in his life. And then he include Draco who's, of course, like the best of the best, and then we add a pinch of clumsiness and then we're all happy!

He shouldn't have agreed to it. But what was he supposed to do? Hermione had come up to him, pleading about not wanting to spend her day alone, even though she already had plans to spend it somewhere.

He tried to tell her he didn't have the equipment needed, but she brushed him off, saying they had it there. Then he tried to convince her that he had absolutely no experience at all. She brushed that off too.

Then he pleaded that he was trying to save up his money for Christmas. She said he didn't need to pay, she could handle it.

So that was how Harry got roped into going roller skating on a Saturday morning with Hermione, who frequented the place. So they drove to a small little place on the worse side of town, called Emerald Castle. It was a cute little place, with okay-ish music and strobe lights. There were people of all ages, from four years old to forty years old. Harry didn't feel nearly as out of place as he thought he would, being is eighteen-year-old self.

Hermione payed for his entree and he got himself some skates, feeling extremely nervous. He'd never skated before, he was going to embarrass himself so many times! But Hermione just rolled her eyes.

"You'll be fine. You always pick up stuff easy."

"But not stuff on wheels!"

"You'll be fine."

"But-"

"Shush."

"I'm going to fall!"

"Everyone falls, Harry!"

Harry sighed. "Look, I'll stay next to you, okay?"

Reluctantly, Harry nodded. And then they made their way onto the wooden rink. Walking on carpet was hard enough, but the transition was like hell. Hermione made it look so easy, but Harry stumbled and grasped for the wall of the rink, doing his best to not end up doing the splits.

True to her word, Hermione went around with him several times, until he felt comfortable enough to not clutch onto the wall for dear life. Eventually, Harry noticed someone who was gliding across the floor like he owned the place, but he seemed to be good enough to the point where he did.

Effortlessly, he did tricks and spins and all kinds of things on his obviously custom roller blades (Harry felt sheepish in his own, Emerald Castle owned roller skates), making Harry stupidly envious.
