Yeah...this is indeed based off the song, Best Day Of My Life by the American Authors...shush. And this is my first ever song based...anything, so yay!

"I'm serious Hermione! in my dream, it was...so big and loud. I jumped so high I touched the clouds! There we're dancing monsters all through the night!" Harry insisted. Hermiones smile was made out of amusement and gratitude that her friend was finally telling her about a good dream and not the nightmares he had been plagued with since the war. "I'm never gonna lock back...I'm never gonna give it up. Maybe...maybe it's a sign." Harry said softly, worrying his bottom lip.
"Harry! don't go all Trelawny on me now!" Hermione giggled, hitting her best friends shoulder.
"I'm serious Hermione! I feel like...I feel like this is going to be the best day of my life." harry said determinedly. "But, really Hermione! I was howling at the moon with friends, probably Remus, actually. And then the sun came crashing in! BOOM! All the possibilities when one is in dream land..." Harry sighed wistfully. He caught Hermione snickering. "Oh shush, you! But it was so crazy, and bazaar! I...heard something calling, outside my window. I...I could feel it in my soul. The stars where burning so bright...the sun stayed out till midnight! Really, Hermione. I really so feel like, like this is going to be the best day of my life..."
"Oh, so you think Malfoy is finally gonna get off his arse and propose?" Ron asked, walking in. He sat next to his wife who was on the couch, across from Harry who was in a lounge chair."No, Ron, I just...I wish he would." Harry sighed.
"Why don't you just do it?" Hermione asked softly. "I'm sure he would say ye-"
"C'mom 'Mione!" Ron interrupted her. "Malfoys are big on tradition, everyone knows that!"
"And what has that got to do with anything?" Hermione asked, raising a eyebrow at her husband.
"The man in the relationship always proposes!"
Harry blushed and Hermione hit her husbands shoulder. "Ronald!" She scolded. Harry just shook his head and got up, bidding his friends goodbye and thanking Hermione for listening.
"Now, I don't see that as sexually fair. I proposed to you, after all, since you wouldn't get off your arse." Hermione argued. Harry chuckled and walked out, heading to work.

"I'm home Dray!" Harry called out, waking into the door of the house he shared with his boyfriend. Hopefully it would be the house he shared with his husband, soon enough.
"I'm in the kitchen!" Draco called back. Harry walked in, and promptly stopped in his tracks. Though he had been exhausted and wanted nothing more then to cuddle and go to sleep, what he saw woke him up instantly and he felt hyper aware.
A romantic dinner was laid out on the table, with a few candles here and there. At the end of the table, Draco was watching him warily.
"What's this?" Harry dragged out slowly. He made his way to the other chair at the end of the table, and felt horribly under dressed. Draco was wearing a suit and tie and his hair was styled, and Harry's was messy as ever, and his supposed-to be fire proof clothes where slightly singed from a Hungarian Horntail he had been assigned to work with today. Sometimes he felt like he was being mocked when he was assigned with such dragons. Just a month ago he had been assigned to help with a Swedish short snout dragon. "Something special?"
"Yes, actually." Draco said nervously, clearing his throat. "But first, you must be hungry. Let's eat." Draco said, staling.
Harry knew he was staling, but just went along with it. He wasn't sure if he wanted to know, so he was willing to wait.
They ate in silence. Harry watching Draco closely, and Draco pretending not to look at Harry.
Finally, Harry leaned back and wiped his mouth with a napkin.
"Okay...so what's all this for? Did you get a promotion or something?" Harry asked cautiously, but to the point.
"No, not exactly..." Draco trailed off. Harry raised a eyebrow silently.
Draco, meanwhile, was gathering every Gryffindor part in his body telling him to go for it, and ignored all the Slytherin parts telling him to run for the hills. The Slytherin side our won the Gryffindor part in mass, but the determination in Dracos mind gave the Gryffindor side a greater advantage over the Slytherin side.
Draco stood up and one hand reached into his pocket and rapped around a small satin box while he walked over to Harry, who was still sitting in his chair, watching Draco with a careful but trusting look.
Draco worshiped that trusting look, that said no matter what happened, Harry trusted him. Draco treasured that. After all Harry had been through, in his school years and his childhood and his summers, he could trust so little people, and Draco he had decided to take a chance with, and so far Draco had not seen the look leave, no matter how many fights they got in over the stupidest of things (but really, what was with Harry and his fear of cupboards? He wouldn't even look at the ones that where in the other houses while they where looking for one, and outright shouted at Draco that they where not getting a house with a cupboard. End of story). He had not seen that look go away and deflate or reduced one bit once it got to the point it was at now.
"Harrison, James, Potter" Draco whispered, grabbing Harry's hands and pulling him out of his seat. Harry stood up wordlessly, lost in the trance that was Draco's gray eyes. Harry told very few people his actual name and not the one he used which was short for the real one. but Draco made the list of honor, and he had learned it a year after they started dating. "I...I've been in love with you since...I'm not even sure when it started it started so long ago." Harry snorted, but didn't say anything. "And...since we started dating....Harry, I wouldn't give these years up for anything. And...I hope you wouldn't trade them either." Harry smiled weekly at him. "My point is, Harry" Draco paused. It was a miracle he had gotten this far. Draco was not one for all that...touchy touchy feely feely love bollocks. "I'm in love with you. And...I'm over calling you my boyfriend, because you are so much more then that. So. Harrison, James, Potter" Draco got down on one knee and took out the box.
He opened the box, holding it delicately in his hands. It was hard for Harry to see trough his tears, but he could. It was a simple golden band with green lining and swirling designs. Harry chuckled. Draco was always tried to merge their two houses, and obviously this hadn't even a exception.
"Will you marry me?" Draco whispered.
Harry laughed, and hit Draco lightly over the head. "Of course you big twat! Took you long enough!" Draco's worried look turned into a big, goofy smile. He stood up, picking Harry up and twirling him around effortlessly.
Wordlessly, Draco set a beaming Harry down and grabbed the ring gently from its box, and slipped it on Harry's ring finger.
"Perfect" Draco whispered, looking up from Harry's hand to his eyes. Said eyes rolled, before Harry grabbed the collar of Draco's shirt and pulled him forward, mashing their lips together happily.
This truly was, the best day of Harry's life. And Draco's.
