Marshal's POV
"Wow, I can't believe Mienshao bit you like that," Shauntal exclaimed, "That's a nasty bite!"
I smiled weakly and rubbed my wrist absentmindedly. Since only Alder and I knew that I had harbored a vampire in my house I had to lie and come up with a reason for the bite on my wrist. The only thing I could come up with was Mienshao had bitten me. I was good at fighting, but lying was something I lacked in. I knew Alder would eventually find out that it was actually Grimsley who bit me, but so far he wasn't suspecting anything and that was good.
"Heh, yeah," I said nervously, avoiding eye-contact with the woman sitting opposite of me, "I must've spooked him or something... It's not his fault that he bit me, honestly."
From the corner of my eye I could see the purple Pokemon give me a glare and I felt more guilt burn in me. He was angry at me since I lied about him, but I had to. I hoped he'd understand and that he wouldn't actually bite me. Shauntal blinked and looked down again, a thoughtful look on her face. I hoped she didn't think too much into it.
"Odd... I thought he was really well trained," she stated, looking up at me.
I blinked and felt a twinge of nervousness go through me. She was starting to ask too many questions and it was making me nervous...
"Uh... Well you know sometimes they can just... Get scared..."
It was a lame excuse and I knew it, but she didn't ask anymore questions about it after that. After a few more hours Shauntal finally said goodnight and eventually left. I watched her go and then I sighed softly. After having Grimsley stay with me for so long I had gotten used to having someone in the house with me, but since I had kicked him out of my house I was lonely again. I tried to push away the feeling of loneliness, but it was no use. I missed him.
I walked over to the window and I looked out. The woods gave off a dark and eerie feeling which made a shiver go down my spine. Normally I wasn't scared of the woods, but after what had happened with Grimsley I wasn't too keen on going back there. I sighed softly, half-expecting and half-wishing to see the raven haired vampire come out of the woods and to my house, but I didn't see him. I almost felt a pang of disappointment in me, but I pushed it away forcefully. I couldn't like Grimsley... I just couldn't like him... He was a monster, a demon, a vampire! There was no way I could possibly like him...
So why did I feel this way? It was as if a part of me was gone, and I wanted to have him back oddly enough. I sighed weakly and I sat down again, resting my head against my hand in defeat. I truly missed the vampire, much to my dismay, and I hated it I groaned softly and I looked up at the ceiling.
No use getting all worked up over it, though, I thought miserably, I doubt he even remembers who I am...
Grimsley's POV
The room was dimly lit, only lit by the light of the candles around the circle. I forced myself to stay calm, though I was still extremely nervous. The council had decided to not only turn me into a full vampire, but to make me a council member. Normally they wouldn't do that, but since I hadn't wanted to be a vampire in the first place they decided that this would be one of the best ways to torture me. Granted I really didn't care that I was going to be a councilman, what I cared about the most was that I was going to be a full vampire soon. I swallowed my nervousness as Caitlin walked into the dim room, a goblet in both of her pale hands. I tried to meet her gaze but she wasn't looking at me, which made me even more nervous. She slowly approached me and looked at me. I could see sadness in her aqua eyes, but I didn't dare try to speak out to her in fear that I'd get in trouble.
