"Why choose Italy?", I questioned myself as I pinned a suspicious picture of another CCTV footage taken 15 hours ago in Singapore.
Veznythian folklore. All I needed was to get my hands on the Codex. That would unravel unexplained mysteries of the world and make it easier to defeat Zelroth.
As I left the research room, I enabled the high security system and left to the conference room for more details on my new identity.
I lost myself in thoughts of Zelroth's ultimate goal and found myself already in front of the room. Getting in, I was welcomed by Leonard sitting on the Colonel's chair.
"You don't know when to give up, do you?" I sighed, annoyed at his stubborness.
"Think about it. I'm one of the best guys in ISIED and you know it. Imagine how much information we'd get, together.", Leonard explained persuasively.
I raised an eyebrow, "How old do you think I am?" I asked him.
"22-", He replied "-and you are capable of thinking about my idea and making a decision that will be good for everyone."
"Well, on second thought. I think I have a good job for you.", I suggested. "Take care of Alexa while I'm gone. If she does anything stupid, I'm going to kill you. Now that's a dangerous job."
He rolled his eyes at me, "Your sister is insane and you know that."
"Better start now then. And remember she's my sister, Leonard. My sister." I warned him.
In the heated moment, the Colonel entered the room causing Leonard to leave.
The Colonel handed me a green file and sat on the opposite side of the table. "Aaron Gray. 18 year old, Ethleton High student. Grew up in England and moved to America two years ago. Both parents are lawyers.", the Colonel stated.
I pulled out several documents in the file - Birth certificates, Passport and a family photo they made me take with two agents.
"Your family." he said after seeing me look at the photo.
Family.
"The rest is in the file." he paused. "Collect your gadgets and special equipments at the Hardware facility.
These will only be active using voice recognition and Biometric Data. Object will self destruct if wrong input is fed."
"Good luck in finding Zelroth. Notify us as soon as you get your hands on him. We'll be there." The Colonel commanded.
"Sir, I have a condition." I stated with confidence. This was needed to be done.
"I'm listening."
"I get to decide what we do with Zelroth after we capture him." I said, slightly shocking the Colonel.
"What do you intend to do with him?"
"Nothing much. Just show him the world is not to be played with.", I replied.
"Nothing personal?"
"Nothing personal.", It's always personal.
"Accepted." The Colonel decided with no hesitation, slight defeat all over his face. He either understood only I could capture Zelroth or was cooking up some other plans.
I took the file and headed to the door. "Good day, Colonel.", and with that I left.
"Good day."

•••THIRD PERSON'S POV•••
Leonard and Alexa had been both paged by the Colonel, leaving curiosity in their heads. They were told to leave their living quarters and meet him at the conference room. As soon as they got in, the room was set to discretion mode. With no cameras, sensors or holograms online, the Colonel proceeded.
"Agents.", he said to them. "I have a secret mission for both of you."
Alexa and Leonard looked at each wondering the sudden requirement for a secret mission. One that would not be inputted to the system.
"A secret mission, sir?" Alexa narrowed her eyes in disbelief.
"Do you accept or reject this offer?", He asked in his commanding voice.
"I choose to accept.", Alexa and Leonard said in unison. If an agent failed to accept direct orders from the Colonel, they were most likely to be painted red by the system.
"Good. I need both of you to keep an eye on Alex in Italy. Notify me if anything goes wrong or he captured Zelroth. Your requirements for this mission will be sent to your quarters. A word about this and you shall be disavowed.", The Colonel warned them and left the room immediately after enabling the system back again.
Leonard and Alexa stood there in utter shock. The guy who warned them in front of everyone to not go after Alex was the only person sending them after him.
Even though the Colonel's intentions were unclear, it was a non zero sum game. Alexandria could help Alex if necessary. Leonard could keep an eye on him and the Colonel? He would gain whatever he wanted as the purpose of the secret mission.

While patiently studying my new identity, all of a sudden my body starts shaking.
I started sweating continuously as I felt my body temperature decrease to the sudden change in my body. My head felt heavy and started throbbing making me let out a painful groan.
I found difficulty in breathing as I felt the burn in my chest and arm. The cold fluid that suddenly ran through my veins made my iris change to the colour of icy blue.
I fell from my chair as I felt my neck hardening. Before I could lose control of my body, I crawled to my bed and pulled out a small suitcase under it. My hands kept shaking as I typed the combination to open the suitcase.
It clicked open, music to my ears, and I pulled the injection out of it. I inject my arm and fell to the side of the bed. Soon enough, I was back to normal.
The serum would soon fade away in my blood. The only fear I had for this mission was this. People would suspecious of me and I'd have to let ISIED take them in to erase their memory.
You might say that is a horrible thing to do. But once you are exposed to this world, there is no turning back.
But me? I would do anything to forget.
It's much easier.
