"Mr. Steven, as a mythical enthusiast, how much do you know about Veznythian legends?" Zelroth asked, making the middle aged professor gulp. He took off his spectacles and kept it on the wooden table of his humble abode in the middle of the rainforest.

"I'm afraid none, Sir." He answered, looking beside Zelroth at the demonic creature with blazing red eyes. "Veznythian folklore simply does not exist."

"Mmm" Zelroth raised his right eyebrow and firmly kept his index finger on his chin. "I wonder why Lucian found sketches of the Ionyx in your book. Mr. Steven, you are a fool if you think you are going to get away by lying straight to my face."

"The Amazonian women claimed it was discovered in one of their shrines." Mr. Steven replied immediately as Lucian came near him. "It was returned to its rightful owner after I was done researching---"

"Rightful owner, you say?"

"I swear I do not know who it was. I stopped the research years ago. It was a clear dead end. I can not possibly assist you in this."

"Your daughter, how old is she? Oh yes, 16. Probably sitting and studying right now while your wife---" he paused, "Ahhhh ex-wife is probably preparing a home cooked meal. They must be quite happy, am I right? Living peacefully without you - a lunatic or so they said."

"Leave them out of this. Please."

"I have already killed all your men and I can guarantee you Mr. Steven, your family is not a big of a deal." He curved an evil smug of content. "Who would notice, anyway? They'd probably just find them dead days later and bury them without a proper funeral, yes?  Because of you?"

"I'll take you to them! The Amazonian women. It might take days to track them but I will find them. Just don't do anything to Lexie and Sarah. I beg you." The man pleaded, eyes filled with guilt and fear.

"Whether I hurt them or not depends on whether you give me what I want, Mr. Steven"

"I'm not blind, Evangeline", Alexa said as she handed the pile of clothes to Evangeline. Sitting on her bed and fiddling with a beautiful silver bracelet, she sighed. "I could see it very well you both were avoiding each other at dinner."

"We have been avoiding each other since we met, Alexa." Evangeline replied. "You need stop suspecting events that haven't even occurred."

"We are a team now. We all need to work together. And we won't be able to do that if you and Alex don't even wanna look at each other!" Alexa buried her face in her palms. Looking back up, she said, "Okay, I can convince my brother but it's not only him with a problem" she stood up. "You need to change too. I know my brother has hurt you in a way. I don't know what it is but I can see it in your eyes. But right now, we dont have time to acknowledge our feelings. We need to put those aside and work together."
