Passing Alex's room, I heard the sound of a chair falling. I stopped at his door and before I could knock, i heard him groan in pain. I assumed he was morphing due to not injecting the serum for the last 28 hours.
I was walking through the corridor when my plan had crossed my mind. I soon stood in front of my office and got in after identity confirmation.
"What may I do for you, sir?" AICOS said in her typical British accent as I sat on my chair. AICOS was the main artificial intelligence computer system who was connected to the entire organization designed by one of our finest scientists in the 60s.
"AICOS, seal the doors and enable the discretion mode." I ordered.
"Of course, Sir. Command accepted."
The thick titanium door locked and were turned sound proof. I saw the beautiful view from the tower get covered by the colour of dull black on the windows.
"Open File: Project APO", a hologram appeared with a password box.
"Password Required as voice recognition." AICOS said.
"The key to end suffering." I stated and after a slight pause she replied "Password accepted"
"Contact Dr. Lenon."
"Calling Dr. Lenon.", AICOS replied while also tracking the location of the Doctor and enabling all cameras where he was. As soon as he received, I had gained access to all systems around him.
"Hello Old friend, It's been quite a long time since we last spoke. Hasn't it?", Dr. Lenon said with a smile.
"Are you enjoying Budapest, Doctor?", I replied. "Speaking of which, I have reconsidered the deal you talked about at the meeting seven months ago. The Gerldrix has it's potential and I'd like to use it. "
"Why the sudden change of mind?" He asks me with a confused look.
"To put it simple, I'm just trying to save the world, Doctor. So we should execute Project APO. Gather an army, the best soldiers you have to offer. The time has come for the world to be cleansed.", I ordered leaning on the table in my office.
"I assume you have found the Gerldrix?"
"I always knew where it was. I was just waiting for the right moment to use it."
All the great achievements had the biggest sacrifices. Nothing 'big' happened without a sacrifice.
"Fear is the only thing that can control people."
"That's all we need to control the world and bring back law and order. Bring back peace.", The doctor added.
"And if you must know, Zelroth escaped." I told Dr. Lenon
"What?! I told you we should have finished him back then!" Dr. Lenon told me.
"Calm down, doctor. We are gonna need him anyway. Only he can tell us how to control the power of the Gerldrix. As soon as Alex finds Zelroth, we are gonna imprison both of them."
"Alexander Whittington? He's great help in many ways. Why him?" Dr. Lenon asked me.
"Haven't you figured it out?"
"I'm afraid I don't understand, Sir"
"Top on all his missions. Never comes back with any scratch on his body. Survived a suicide bombing attack and much more but still manages to be completely fine and ready for orders. How is that possible? He is not even in his mid thirties to be that skilled."
"He is a well trained soldier. Why should we imprison him?"
"Dr. Lenon", I said with enthusiasm waiting to shock him. "Alex is the Gerldrix. He contains the Gerldrix in his cells. His body is the vessel of the power source. That poor boy can't even contol it." I tell him.
"He isn't human?" Dr Lenon asked me, completely and utterly shocked.
"He was until 10 years ago."
"No. It's not possible. The Gerldrix is a stone. A gem. It's not a person."
"Dr. Lenon, believe it or not. It is true. And you can tell no one about this. Am I clear?"
"Crystal."
"Well, wasn't that a lovely conversation? Goodbye Dr. Lenon" ,I cut the call.
I couldn't wait for that moment, when there would be pipes connected to his body As I stood there watching all his blood getting sucked out of his body. When I see the container filled with his blood. The rush of power I would feel when the Gerldrix was injected in me would be bliss.
Soon this world would be balanced.
