Legends Academy

Chapter 2: Griffin Arena

             “Welcome students of Legends academy. May I please welcome Headmaster Hozzletop.” Mrs. Gassalade stepped away from the podium and a man stepped out.  He wore a green top hat with a gold rim, and a white suit. He twirled his cane around his finger and he had a wide grin. His suit jacket drooped to the back of his knees. Nobody could see his eyes, as he had his hat tipped over to the point that nobody could see them. All the students stood in an arena. Becky sat next to Free, and she was slowly losing focus, still intoxicated from the night before. Hozzletop Looked up and tilted his hat. He had ruffled brown hair of medium length, and a monacle. He also had one other thing nobody around there had. Excitement.

“Hello students of year 1120!” He threw his cane up in the air and started putting on gloves. “As you should already know, today you will be taking on various monsters. The scholars will be going first according to rank. Will these five please report to the gates. Jaden Hidash, Gozlin Heir, Jepro Duke, Deucio Ravez, and Becky Corvin! For the rest of you students, it will take us all night to get through all 350 000 of you. If anybody wants to drop out,” His smile disappeared and he caught his cane. “Do it, now.” A few students stepped up and left the arena. Becky stood to but she wasn’t headed home, she was headed for the waiting room.

Within minutes, Jaden stood in the center. He drew out two silver blades and he wore chains around his body attached to mechanisms on his shoulders, which then connected to his blades. he laughed a little when a gate opened and out came a large humanoid... thing. It looked much like a deformed human, kinda like a boogie man. Its arms were long and its hands were the size of its oversized head, but all over he was albino white with four bloody red eyes.

Hozzletop screamed, without a count down. “Kill!” Jaden threw his sword and it missed the creatures head by an inch, and it stuck in the wall. He tugged the chain a bit, but it was jammed. The devices on his shoulders fed more chain accordingly. The thing ran at Jaden and he jumped over the creature, but the chain caught its neck. He landed on his own chain and started retracting it. The monster slid over to him slowly being asphyxiated as it fought the pull of the chain around its neck. He threw his other sword into the ground and he grabbed his dagger, but he didn’t just kill it. First, he sawed it’s hands off it bled everywhere. Covered in blood, Jaden ran in front of the creature and threw his dagger into its windpipe. It snarled before trying to run.The chains were still strapped to Jaden, so he ran over to his sword stuck in the wall, and he retrieved his other blade on the way over He aimed his blade towards the monster and he started pulling it in with the chain mechanism. The monster fought with its feet but eventually, his blade shot out of its chest. finally he ripped his blade up its torso, and then its skull.

The audience applauded and he was drenched in blood. He sheathed his blades and retracted the chain to their tightest. He then walked over to the monster and grabbed his dagger, where he licked and sheathed it.

Hozzletop jumped and clicked his heels giggling like a schoolgirl. “Well Maria!? Isn’t this exciting!?”

“My name is Mrs. Gassalade you overpowered hooligan.” She snarled shoving her glasses back up to her eyes. She then looked back at the arena, as the next three soldiers got ready in the bay, but Becky remained tired, and even sat in the corner. Number 2 ran out.

Gozlin Heir, a red headed girl with square glasses, wielding two pistols wandered out into the center of the arena. She twirled them and smiled with extremely wide eyes. Out of the gates walked a two headed snake slithered out and scurried up to her. She rammed her pistols down their throats. She fired and the snake fell over dead. She finished much faster than Jaden, because she ditched the showmanship. She shoved her pistols into their respective holsters.

Then out came Jepro Duke. He had a war hammer over his shoulder and out walked another one of those humanoid things that Jaden had dealt with. It ran at him and he swung his hammer, but it ended up behind the head and the monster was point blank to him. It then reared back its right hand and clamped his throat with the other one. He flailed his leg. “Please!” He called. The audience turned away, curled in their seats. “Please! I beg you call off the fight!” And the monster smashed his middle finger through Jepro’s throat. He hacked blood and the audience all quivered and mumbled.
