Antoine sat upon Pivovine in the front of the gate. he had blankets, food for roughly two weeks,  two water skins, food for the horse, and most of their savings all strapped to the mare. his daughters surrounded him, making sure he had everything, and that he knew exactly what they wanted him to get in the city.

"Pere, make sure you get me some dresses yes? but ones not too ornate, but they should be in silk or satin at least!" cried Isabel.

"make sure you don't eat too much at first, save it. you need the money for other things, like some earrings or some nice furniture perhaps." Ariel exclaimed.

"don't listen to her father, eat as much as you need, that's what the money is for, so you can buy more." Belle argued.

"girls, girls, girls!!" their father yelled. "Calm down! I know what you each want and what we need. don't worry! I'll remember, even you Belle." Antoine cracked a smile at his youngest daughter.

They had gone over everything many times these last three days.

Ariel wanted jewels and trinkets to match the dresses they had or will make.

Isabel wanted new dresses to wear because she wanted to copy it at the store, but secretly because she wanted to feel slightly superior to the others in town.

and Belle.... it was only the hour before that she knew what she wanted.

"I would love some roses" she told her father an hour ago. "We grow so many things, but we don't have any flowers, and I feel momma would like them." she softly said.

With the thought of Antoine's former wife, he could could never say no to his daughters sweet request.

"I better be off, I want to get there as soon as possible. I'll miss you girls, behave while I'm gone, will you?" He asked.

The three daughters nodded.

"Good, I'll send word when I can. I love you all!" He said, then left the yard with as much pride as he could muster.

A lonely man sat on a balcony on the highest tower, looking at the raising sun. He needed the sun, it gave him life, it gave him feeling. He led a monotonous life here in this dreaded castle, ever so slowly going insane. he deserved what had happened to him. It took him years to accept it, but he did. But he hated it. He just wanted get this life, this curse, over with. But that idiotic witch seemed to think he could break it. That some girl would come to this blasted castle, and he would sweep her off her feet, and love him as much as he loves her.

He sighed holding his ugly head in his hands.

How could anyone love this? How could anyone love a monster? How could anyone love a beast?
