Chapter Two: School

I threw my bag in the back of my car and jumped into the drivers side and waited for Thomas.

"Thomas, I know you are on top of the car. You know you can't ride on top of my car in public so get in the car." I said laughing and rolled down the passenger window.

"But, but fine" He groaned and jumped through the window. I laughed again took off driving to the school.

We got to the school and like usual, we get the stares from the students. See me being a hunter, I have to move a lot so my cover won't get blown and Thomas has been my friend for three years. He always moved with me.

"Earth to Alexis! Hey c'mon, we have to go before we late!" Thomas said poking my side. I hit him in the arm and glared at him.

I got out of the car and walked into the school ignoring everyone with Thomas trailing behind me.

Once we got to the office, a middle-aged lady greeted us. "Hi, how can I help you two?"

"I'm Alexis Thornton and this is my brother Thomas. We are new here." I said smiling.

"Ah, yes! Well I'm Mrs. Ruston the guidance counselor and here are your schedules. Your locker number and combo should be on your schedule and if you need anything just come and find me!"

I smiled and took our schedules, "Thank you Mrs. Ruston, we will sure take up your offer."

She smiled and nodded excusing us. We took off towards our lockers luckily our lockers are beside each other. I threw my stuff into it and grabbed my notebook and a pencil and tossed it into my backpack and shut my locker.

"I'm waiting for that one day you will break something for tossing and throwing it places." Thomas says laughing. I punched him in the arm and glared at him.

"C'mon, let's go. We both have Algebra 2." I said looking at my schedule. I looked at my last class....
"Dude they have gun classes! I am so going to love that class!" I said excitedly.

He nodded and laughed as we both started walking to our class. Once we got there we went to the back of the classroom and sat down beside each other. I looked over a Thomas and smiled, he smiled back.

"Did you see anything during your patrol this morning?" Thomas asked me questioningly. I just nodded my head.

BRRRRRIIIIIIINNNNNNNNGGGGGG

Students started flooding into the classroom, while staring at us directly. I groaned and hit my head on the desk. "I hate moving and restarting schools" I grumbled to myself. Thomas just laughed and shook his head.

Right then and there, the teacher walked in the door.

"Okay class, settle down! We have two new students, Alexis and Thomas Thornton. Why don't you two stand up and say something about yourselves?" The teacher said smiling. Both Thomas and I stood up and smiled. Well Thomas had a genuine smile while I forced it.

"Well I'm Thomas and this is my sister Alexis, we are from Long Beach, California. We tend to move a lot though." He said smiling his cheeky smile to all the girls. The girls all blushed. I lightly punched him in the arm. He flashed me a smile.

"Thank you Thomas, you two may sit down. I am Mrs. Anderson and I'm going to be your Algebra teacher for the rest of year." She greeted and smiled. We sat down and started a regular lecture. I looked out the window then I felt my phone vibrate. I took it out and looked at it underneath the desk.

UNKNOWN: Call me tonight. Meeting at 8 pm. Tell Thomas and don't be late.

I quietly groaned and layed my head on to the desk. Thomas looked over at me questioningly. I mouthed to him meeting a 8. He nodded and turned his attention back to the board. This is just going to be a very long day.

After three and half hours, it was finally lunch time. I threw my stuff into my locker and grabbed my bag and walked outside and climbed at tree and sat there waiting for Thomas.

"Waiting for me?" Thomas said smiling and hanging upside down from the branch above me.

"Nah, just sitting up here admiring the view." I said laughing and he flipped himself over and plopped down beside me.

"Shall we skip the rest of the day?" He asked. I shook my head laughing.

"As much as I want to, we should at least finish the day. You can survive that!"

"I graduated 5 times already!"

"That's because you are dead and as you forgot I haven't been able to graduate yet because I'm always leaving to hunt. I love to take one of your years of graduating." He laughed and ruffled my head.

"You don't need to graduate, you are already too smart!"

"Don't ruffle my hair and thank you, you sure know how to make a girl feel better about herself." I said jokingly as I fixed my hair. I redid my braid.

"Since when did you care about your hair?"

"I never said I did, it's just for today." I said laughing, "C'mon the bell is going to ring." We jumped down from the tree and ran through the doors to the school.
