Chapter Twenty-Five: Protecting Her

Alexis POV

Emily and I growled deeply, while Amanda hid her face in my neck and cried harder. I looked over at Marcel and he looked pissed too.

"Mind-link your pack and figure out if anyone is around the territory. I want all children in doors at all times, unless if there is someone who can protect the child. I want warriors posted near all houses and more boarder patrols. Your mother and brother especially, they will be a huge target." I said sternly. Marcel nodded and run out the door.

"Emily?" I asked.

"Yup?" She replied.

"Do you think I can mind-link Thomas?"

"Maybe. I don't really know." Emily said truthfully. I nodded and continued to hold Amanda.

"Thomas?" I said trying to get a hold of Thomas.

"The hell?" Thomas said in my head.
Eh! It worked! Okay keep is going Alexis.

"Thomas, it's me, Alexis. I'm talking you through a mind-link. Yes I know, you usually can't mind-link unless you have a special bond, a family bond, in wolf form, or in a pack. You don't know this but we have a family bond I guess. Anyways I need you to come upstairs to Marcel's room as fast as possible."

I continued to hold Amanda, she was crying very hard. My wolf and I were really upset about it, someone hurt my princess. In less then 10 seconds Thomas bursts through the door and sees us.

"What did Marcel do? I swear to god if he hurt you! Wait why is Amanda crying?" Thomas said sitting beside us and he started rubbing Amanda's back. I covered her ears and said, "Amanda saw the rouges who killed her pack."

Thomas hissed loudly and looked at the window. I let go of Amanda's ears and I got up and shifted her onto my waist. She kept her head hidden in my neck.

"I already sent Marcel to mind-link his pack and to find out if their is any more left. I'm going to find Luna Sarah or Sharon to take care of Amanda while you and I jump into the trees to search." I said, Thomas nodded and went to get ready. I walked down the stairs and went into the kitchen and saw Brent and Samantha.

"Hey, have you two seen Luna Sarah or seen Sharon?" I asked. They shook their head no.

"Do you need someone to watch Amanda?" Brent asked.

"Yeah, there has been rouges spotted and both Thomas and I need to check it out."

"We can watch her, she was with us this morning while you were resting." Samantha said.

"Are you sure?"

"We are more than sure." Brent said smiling. Amanda lifted her head and looked at them then looked at me.

"Are you alright with staying with them? I really don't want to leave you but I need to take care of this, it's one more step of getting peace." Amanda nodded, I set her on the counter and I kissed the top of her head.

"I love you princess."

"I love you too mom." She said sniffling. I smiled and nodded at Brent and Samantha. I left the kitchen and went to my room and grabbed my knife, stake, and holster. I put my knife in my right boot and my stake in the left boot. I buckled my holster to my leg and added a few more stakes. I then went into Thomas's room, he right away tossed me my crossbow and the quiver that hooks onto my holster on leg. I threw my crossbow on my back and Thomas had his holster full of knives and stakes on his leg. He had his hand guns in his hands and put them into his holsters on his waists.
