Chapter Eight: Little One

Alexis POV

I got to the cottage and kicking the door open, I set the pup on my bed and went to the first aid kit and started wiping it's cuts clean. After doing that I wrapped it's paw so it can heal properly.

"Okay little one. I do not want you to shift until you are fully heal, if you stay in your wolf form it will heal faster and properly. I'm going to call my friend to pick you up some food and clothes that will hopefully fit you. I just have one small question. Are you a girl?" I said the pup nodded.

"Okay. I'm going to let you rest." I started walking out the door but then the pup started whimpering. I turned around and looked at her. She looked scared so I walked back over to her and I lifted her head sitting down beside her, then I set her head back on my lap. I softly petted her, humming a soft tune. She slowly started drifting to sleep. I grabbed my phone and punched in Thomas's number.

"Where the hell are Alexis? You left the school and hid your scent! I've been searching you everywhere! Why did you run away from Marcel? You know he might be the best thing to help you!" Thomas yelled through the phone.

"Shh, I know I know. I panicked but I need you to run some errands and come here with the stuff I need." I whispered

"Nu uh! You are not getting out of this and why are whispering!"

"Thomas shut up and please do what I ask and do it fast. You need to go grocery shopping and clothes shopping."

"Why? What's wrong with the clothes you have and we have canned food in the cupboards."

"It's not for me, dumbass. I've found an injured rouge werewolf pup and she was either taken from her pack or her pack was killed. I think she is about eight to nine years old so get her some clothes. Like dresses, jeans, and shirts. Get her cereal, meat, bread, milk, and fun snacks. Okay? Do it quickly before she wakes up." I pleaded still petting the pup.

"Fine. But then we are going back to the situation with Marcel. Got it?"

"I got it now go." I said hanging up. I looked down at the pup. She has a beautiful blonde wolf, I wonder what her human side looks like. I rested my head on her neck and smiled down at her. I leaned my head on the wall and drifted to sleep.

"Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey." A quite hushed male voice said. I quickly grabbed my knife and pressed against the males neck. I looked and saw it was Thomas. I quickly put the knife back in my boot and looked to my side, the pup was still in her wolf form and is still asleep. Thomas walked out of the room. I lifted her head and replaced my lap with a pillow. I got up, leaving the door open and went into the kitchen to see a bunch of bags everywhere.

"Did you buy the whole store?!?" I whispered yelled.

"You said buy her clothes and food, plus canned food is not good for you either. You need your calcium, grains, and meat."

"Thank you Thomas. Really. But you didn't have to get so much. When she wakes up, I was going to ask her what happened and hopefully we can bring her back to her family, if they are still alive." I said putting away the groceries, Thomas nodded but stayed silent. We put away all the food and I started making grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup.

"I'll take care of this. Go wake her up." Thomas said taking the spatula away from me. I nodded, grabbing her clothes and went into my room and putting away her clothes. I looked over at her and saw she shifted in her sleep. She was a beautiful young girl with blonde hair. She was way too skinny for her age. The blanket was up to her chest. I walked over to her and softly shook her awake.

"Time to wake up little one. C'mon sleepy head." I said smiling softly. The girl opened her eyes slowly, her blue eyes boring into mine. She looked around the room scared and moved away from me.

"Hey, hey, calm down. Remember me? I helped you. I'm not going to hurt you, I just want to help you. Please let me help you. Here is some clothes, panties and a dress. I'll let you do that." I said setting the clothes beside the girl and I was heading out the door but then I head, "No please. I'm sorry. Don't leave me. I'm scared." I shut the door and turned around I see the girl almost crying, I came back over to her and kneeled down and hugged her. She hugged back and cried. She pulled apart and I looked at her, wiping her tears away and kissed the top of her head.

"I know you just met me but I must ask you what happened? What made you a rogue? You do not have to tell me until you are ready. Okay young one?" She looked down at her hands before speaking up, "About a month ago, a pack of rogues attacked our pack, the Red Blood pack. Killed everyone including the Alpha and Luna, my parents. Some of us escaped but were killed, I was the only one who escaped." She said sadly. She grabbed the clothes and put them on underneath the blanket. She sat up and I held her hands.

"I lost my family too, five years ago. My dad was an amazing hunter and so rogues and vampires kidnapped my little brother and so we sent out to save him but they killed them and a friendly vampire came and saved me. We both got into the hunting business and we've been for awhile." The little girl rested her hand on my cheek, "What is your name little one?"

"Amanda. What is yours?

"Alexis. Are you hungry?" I asked she nodded and we both got up headed to the kitchen. Thomas had our food already set out. She hid behind my legs. "It's okay, this is the vampire who saved me. He won't hurt you. Okay?" She looked over at him and slowly came from behind my legs.

"I'm Thomas, Alexis's best friend. Come and eat. You must be hungry, you too Alexis. I know you are hungry." He said gesturing to the food. We both sat down and started eating in silence.
