Chapter Thirty-Five: History

Marcel's POV

"Wait, you said that Thomas didn't tell us the full story?" Carson said.

"He left things out. Alexis's and Thomas's past aren't sunshine and butterflies." Dante said sadly. I looked at my hands on the desk.

"Alexis didn't really have childhood, it was all training, she barely had time to go to school. She trained starting at age four and got skilled at age six, Thomas probably said she started at age six but no. Her breaks from training was Lilly homeschooling her. With Alexis being home schooled meant she had no friends, one of the reasons why Thomas was hired. It made Alexis very tough, short tempered, and hot-headed on the outside, but when you really get to know her, She's a total different person. It's sad that she never shows her real side but you really can't do that as a hunter."

"Why is that?" Nathan asked

"You can't show any weaknesses, it can get you killed and the organization destroyed. You might say being a hunter a tough lifestyle, it is, It takes a lot of guts." Dante said.

"Pfft, only if you are Alexis, it's tough." Nathan said. Dante looked at Nathan dead in the eyes.

"Do you know how many demons are in a clan?"

"38?" Nathan replied.

"Wrong, 284 at the LEAST! Now let's say that a few humans stumbled into their hands and now you are sent out their ALONE to save the humans. You have a huge chance of dying but that doesn't matter because you get to save some helpless beings. Now tell me that isn't tough? To run into a clan of demons and not care to die?" Dante said. Carson's eyes went wide and looked at me, Nathan gulped and looked down at the carpet.

"Okay, moving on. What about Alexis's brother, what's the full story there?" I asked.

"Alexis was really close to her brother, 4 years apart didn't bother her at all. She swore to her that she was going to protect him, and when Max was taken Alexis went by herself. Her parents didn't accompany her until when they discovered that they were both missing. Well, fifteen year old Alexis wasn't very clean sneaking into places, she got caught. They Vampires and Rogues thought it would be hilarious to tie Alexis to chair and when her parents bursted in, one of the Vampires slit Jerald's neck and Lilly ran to Alexis but little did she know, there was a trip wire and she tripped over it triggering it to shoot arrows at Lilly, killing her. Then Alexis saw Max in a chair tied up across the room, she saw the rouge who took Max. Alexis struggled as hard as she can to get to Max but the rouge came up to Max and placed his hands on Max's face. Alexis screamed and cried for them to let Max go, to kill her. Well, the rouge had other ideas and snapped Max's neck. Alexis finally got out of the chair and ran to Max, hoping he was alive. Seconds later Thomas came and killed many of their group and took Alexis out of there before they killed her." Dante stopped and wiped his eyes, Carson was hugging his knees staring at the window and Nathan was playing with his thumbs.

"Sh-She saw all that?" I asked shaking. "Mate has been through a lot, we going to protect mate, we will never let anything hurt mate like that again" Blake said.

"She did indeed, but Marcel. You, your pack is healing her. I never seen her smile and laugh so much, I never seen her be so involved with everyone. I never seen her this happen after her family died. You guys are healing her, Marcel you marked her. Do you know how huge that is? It means she finally opening up to someone, which is huge. She finally fell in love with someone, not only that but she has Amanda. Amanda is so much like Max, she's extremely mature and smart but still is a child, it's incredible. Amanda has made Alexis learn that's it's okay to love which is amazing!" Dante exclaimed. We all smiled a bit.

"I love her already." Nathan said laughing.

"What ever you do just do NOT wake her up!" Carson exclaimed, making Dante and I laugh.

"Wait, why? Will she punch me?" Nathan asked confusedly.

"She still does that? Man, I STILL have scars! Nathan, Alexis has a habit that if she awoken by a noise she will tend to chuck a knife at where the noise came from, or if you are near her and tell her to wake up or something, there is a huge chance you will have a knife to your neck." Dante said laughing. Nathan's eyes widen making Dante and I laugh harder.

"I can't believe she still does that?!"

"This morning the knife went ALL the way THROUGH the door!" Carson exclaimed.

"That's a new record, no one's done that at the organization yet!" Dante said laughing.

"Dante, how do you know all of this about Alexis, about her past?" I asked.

"We had talking and tracking devices on. Lilly and Jerald had them during the murder, my father, the boss and I heard it all. My father took Thomas and Alexis in when it happened, they basically became my brother and sister. It's always been us three back then, and we all got really close. But now Alexis has you guys, and I found Kida. I just don't know what Thomas is going to do, is he going to stay with Alexis, stay with the organization, or is he going to go on his own again." Dante explained. We all nodded and Dante stood up.

"I'm going to go check if Kida is okay, oh and Marcel?" Dante said heading out the door and stopped.

"Yeah?"

"You should take Alexis and Amanda out for something or go somewhere, it's not healthy for both of them to be in such a serious climate for so long." He said leaving the room.

Alexis POV

After Emily took over, Tia took us to the creek in the forest for us to play in. Tia was jumping into the water, trying to get us wet. Emily then launched herself into the water, soaking Tia up.

"Hey! I was supposed to get YOU wet!" Tia whined.

"I noticed, but you can't have all the fun!" Emily said laughing, I smiled.

"Hey Em, can I regain control? I need to talk to Amanda." I asked.

"Tia, can you give Amanda control? Alexis needs to talk to her." Emily asked before giving me control, Tia nodded. I slowly felt myself gaining control and I got out of the creek and shook the water out of my fur coat and laid down on the grass.

"Mom?" Amanda asked also getting out of the water and laid down beside me.

"I'm so sorry." I said softly.

"Why? You did nothing wrong, mom."

"I got angry and attacked him, Amanda. I let my guard down, I could of killed him and you would of saw all of it."

"Mom, he killed your little brother. I understand, I think anyone would want to kill him if the went through what you have been through. I know the reason why you attacked him, he kept staring at Marcel and I." Amanda said nudging her nose with mine, I looked at her and snuggled my face into her neck.

"The way he was staring at you, I could hear what he was thinking. He was thinking of ways he can kill you, to crush me. It scared me Amanda, I keep thinking that they are going to find a way to get you and kill you. I-I don't want to loose you, I CAN'T loose you." I said feeling tears fall, Emily was whining because she feels the same way. Amanda moved closer to me and I laid my head on her neck, breathing in her strawberry scent.

"You aren't going to loose me, Mom. They won't be able to get to me because I know they would have to get through so many people to get to me. Marcel, Carson, Thomas, your team, the pack, and of course you. It would be a suicide mission." Amanda said honestly. I sighed and looked into the water, Amanda got up and went into the trees and came out with some clothes for her and I. I grabbed the clothes from her and trotted behind a tree to change. I shifted and changed into a white tank top and some short jean shorts, I got out from behind the tree and sat back down. Today is going to be rough.
