Chapter Thirty: Explaining The Past

Alexis POV

"Wait, Wait Dante? Did he have a tattoo on his shoulder? A rifle and a shotgun making a form of an X?" I asked.

"Yeah." Carson said questioningly.

"Alexis, do you know them?" Marcel asked concernly.

"Yes, do not worry. It's my team, I'm  sorry I didn't tell you. I didn't know they were actually coming since the panic call this morning. C'mon, I have to meet up with them." I said picking Amanda up and set her on my back. She giggled and wrapped her arms around my neck tightly. I smiled and Marcel wrapped his arm around my waist and kissed Amanda's temple. Carson nodded and opened the door for us. Marcel and Carson shifted into their wolves and ran ahead of Amanda and I while I started to jog.

We came up to the group and the boys went into the trees to shift and came up beside us. I see Dante and I softly let down Amanda and ran up to Dante and hugged him tightly. Dante laughed and picked me up spinning me around, giving me a huge bear hug.

"Ah, Lex! It's been too long!" Dante said laughing, he set me down on the ground and let me go. Amanda came running up to me and hugged my leg tightly and smiled. I picked her up and set her on my hip and she wrapped her arms around my neck and hid her face.

"It's all been 8 months Dante, it's not that bad." I said smiling, I kissed Amanda's shoulder, making her giggle and hold on tighter.

"Who is this little one?" Dante said smiling at us.

"This is Amanda, my daughter. Amanda? Wanna say hi to Dante? He's a really nice friend of mine." I said softly. She slowly lifted her head and looked at Dante.

"Hi Dante, I'm Amanda. Nice to meet you." Amanda said and held her hand out.

"Why hello Amanda, it's really nice to meet you too." He said smiling and shaking Amanda's hand. Amanda squirmed out of my grip and ran to Marcel and hopped into his arms making him laugh. Marcel and Carson walked up to us, I can tell Marcel was a little jealous.

"Dante, this is Marcel the soon to be Alpha." I paused and gestured to Marcel. "And this is Marcel's soon to be Beta, Carson."

"Nice to meet you two. It'll be an honor working with you guys." Dante said shaking both of their hands.

"C'mon. We should get you guys some rooms so you guys can rest, you guys must of had a long trip." Marcel said smiling.

"Thank you Alpha Marcel, we deeply appreciate it." Dante said. Amanda stuck her tongue at Carson and Carson did the most strangest face ever and made Amanda to burst out laughing.

"Didn't do it!" Carson said throwing his hands in the air and took off running, Amanda ran out of Marcel's grip and ran after Carson.

"Amanda is so strange." I said laughing.

"Reminds me of you." Dante said cheekily. I laughed and Marcel wrapped his arm around my waist and we headed to the house.

"So Alexis, when did you get a kid? I can tell she isn't yours since you are only 17, and she looks like about eight, nine years old." Dante said sitting down on a stool, I smiled and handed him a cup of tea.

"She's my adoptive daughter. I found her in the forest injured in her wolf form. Her arm was broken and many bruises and cuts." I said sadly, grabbing a stool.

"She seems like a bundle of Joy." He said smiling.

"She is, she really is. I love her to pieces and she has everyone wrapped around her tiny finger." I said taking a drink of my tea. I smiled at the small memories I had with her.

"I can tell you do. It's weird but it looks like you two been together forever."

"I only had her for almost a month."

"Well, what about you and the Alpha? I can tell you two have a thing." Dante said raising an eyebrow.

"Well, um he's."

"Alexis J. Thornton! Spit it out!" He yelled softly and laughed.

"He's my mate." I said tucking my hair behind my ear.

"Ooooh! Congrats! It's about some time you got a man in your life!" Dante said laughing. I laughed with him.

"Alexis, will you get your daughter off my leg! First she was acting very childishly and then extremely mature and now she won't get off my leg!" I heard Carson yell.

"C'mon, Carson! It's just Amanda! She doesn't bite!" Kida said walking in and laughing. She looked at me smiling and Carson walked well limped his way inside with Amanda giggling and hugging his leg tightly. I shook my head and laughed.

"She does too! She bit my hand earlier!"

"Because you touched my tail!" Amanda said letting go of Carson's leg and ran to me.

"Amanda, why don't you go help Uncle Thomas pack and then tell him to come down here. Okay?" I said laughing. She nodded and ran up the stairs.

Dante turned around and looked at Kida, Kida froze and gasped.

"Mate." She said so quietly that only werewolves and vampires can hear before running.

"Kida!" Carson and I yelled. I groaned and put my face into my hands.

"One day. Just one day without no drama. One day, that's all I ask for." I said mumbling to myself.

"Why did she run away?" Dante said concernly. Awe, he already feels the mate bond.

"I can't explain to you about right now and not even Carson knows the full story. Just wait for Thomas, I'll be right back." I said taking off after Kida.

I ran behind a tree and took off my clothes and shifted, grabbing my clothes in my teeth and followed Kida's scent.

I found her in a tree crying, I ran behind a tree and changed and ran to the tree and climbed up it quickly. I sat beside her and wrapped my arms around her, she hid her face in my neck and cried. I held onto her tightly and rubbed her back.

"Hey, hey. It's okay, I'm here." I said softly. She continued to cry and I just held her, saying soothing words to her.

After a long while, I got her to calm down. Kida let go of me and she held onto the tree and looked at the ground.

"He's going to reject me, if he finds out my past he's going to think I'm this disgusting freak." Kida said sniffling.

"I know Dante really well. He's basically my brother Kida, he won't reject you. I know he won't." I said softly.

"Why are you even being nice to me? You just met me." She said looking at me.

"Because you remind me of myself. Your strong and brave, you are braver than me, braver than a hunter. I would not be able to go through what you've been through. I think Dante would be proud to have a strong, brave mate." I said smiling softly.

"Would he be proud of my past, would he be proud for the fact I'm not as innocent?" She said sadly. I hugged her tightly and held her hand in mine.

"Kida, I'm proud of you for not breaking. You didn't break and try to end everything, you kept going. Dante would be proud of you too, trust me." I said honestly. She smiled gently at me and hugged me. I hugged her back and she looked at me in the face.

"Can y-you tell him about my p-past and what we are? I-I don't think I'll be able to tell him." She stuttered. I smiled and nodded.

"Come on. Let's get your beautiful face cleaned up." I said climbing down, she nodded and did the same. When we got to the bottom I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and she wrapped hers around my waist and made our way to the house.
