I woke up with Derek wrapped around me and a pounding headache. Last night, once we left the bar, we did everything we could and wanted to do together. It was the last day to have fun whilst being the real me. I groaned and rolled over to look at the alarm clock. It was 8:10 a.m which left a good amount of time to get ready and train.
"What time is it?" I heard Derek mumble sleepily.
"Its 10 past 8. We should really be getting ready now," I said as I turned to face him. He pulled me closer and shook his head.
"No."
"What? Derek, let me go," I giggle and struggled to get out of his hold which only tightened.
"No. I don't want you to go. I'm not letting you go."
"Come on Derek. Enough with the games."
"I'm not playing Al." His voice wasn't strict but it lost its playful tone. "I don't want you to go. Not again."
"I don't want to go either but I have to. We can still see each other Derek. I promise we won't lose touch." I said with a sad smile. He let go of me and I got up and left for the bathroom. I decided against wearing my contacts and just got dressed into tracksuit trousers and a thin hoodie. I quickly ran a brush through my hair and by the time I had finished everything Derek was already at the door.
"Don't you want to eat breakfast?" He asked me. I shook my head and we both made our way downstairs and to his motorbike. We both got on, Derek in front and driving, and me behind him holding on tightly.
We arrived at Matt's house in silence and the silence continued until we got to the basement. Once down there I realised that Derek, Matt, Ben, Crystal, Mike, J. and I were the only ones here. I walked over to Crystal and Ben and sat down next to them.
"What are you guys doing here?" I asked them. They weren't going to fight even if they wanted to. I couldn't really stop Derek as he was part of the gang but Crystal and Ben had nothing to do with gangs.
"Well I need to get your stuff sorted for after the fight and I kinda stayed over for the night," Crystal replied with a smile and I nodded before looking at Ben.
"I live here."
"I know that," I rolled my eyes," I mean why are you down in the basement?"
"Well, I have to say goodbye to my best friend, don't I?"
"Ben, I'm coming back here tonight."
"Well I'm staying down here whether you like it or not." I smiled at this. Neither of them had to be here yet they were. Peter was the only one missing but he didn't really have a reason to be here. He didn't get involved and didn't really know of what was happening. Plus he probably has a massive hangover from last night.
"Al, you are wearing the suit underneath, right?" Mike asked me. I nodded and got up. Walking over to the corner of the room where J. and Derek were.
"Hey guys."
"Hey, choose to pistols," Derek said as he showed me one of the big, plastic, grey bags. I nodded and got out two pistols. Each weapon we had was of good quality so I just checked if they were fully loaded, which they were.
"Why pistols?" I asked and looked over to J.
"Because if you need to use a gun it would probably be close up. Plus you're usually only good with them and rifles." He answered. I nodded knowing what he said was completely true.
Mike walked over to us with some kind of card in his hands.
"What's that?" I asked.
"Its your almost finished ID. All I need is a pic of you once everything has changed." He replied.
