Chapter 32

You know that feeling where you think someone else is there watching you or listening in? Well I've got that feeling but... It's more. I can hear some kind of tapping sound. Wait, no. That sound is real. I turned my head to look at the window to see if it was raining or something but instead I saw a bit of hair and a hand tapping  against the glass. That definitely isn't a creepy horror serial killer move. Nothing like it. Shrugging all my thoughts away and seeing as I had nothing better to do I went over to the window to see who it was if it was a person. I opened the window and looked down, it was the one and only Derek. Still as cute as ever too!

"Hi... I told you I'd find you," he smiled lazily, pulling himself up to sit on the window sil.

"Don't think you actually said that but I missed you... Even if it wasn't long," I kissed him softly and went to lay down on my bed.

"Well how's the new family?" He asked me biting his lip for some reason but it was really hot! Oh god shut up! Stupid brain. It's just Derek. Oh fuck that I've loved him from the start.

"Um... Well Xander is cool, there's this 14 year old kid called Mason don't know much 'bout him, kind girly kinda girl called Otilia, she's 16 so not much of an age difference and oh yeah um.., KylekindoflivesheretooandAshalsoshoweduptoday. How are you?" I finished with a sentence hoping he wouldn't catch onto the Kyle part but he did. No surprises there.

"Kyle also lives here? And stay the fuck away from that Asher kid!" He practically screamed. Actually he just said it in an angry way. Same thing really.

"Shh, keep your voice down and yeah but he seems kinda moody and no one really figured me out so I doubt that'll happen anytime soon." 

"Okay and about Xander-" Derek stopped talking and ducked back under the window when the door opened.

"Hey I was wondering if you wanted to come play some video games," Xander asked me with smile and I nodded.

"Yeah, of course!"

"Oh yeah, if you have company dont't get 'em to hide, they can join us too," I blushed slightly and looked over to the window and smiled.

"Thanks," Derek said but not in harsh tone. Xander left the doorway and we both followed him without even a word. Walking down the hall we could hear loud shouts, laughs and people talking above the sound of the tv but all the noise came to a halt as soon as we entered or at least once Derek entered. Ash and Kyle were glaring at him from the left couch and Mason kept turning his head between all three guys wondering what was going on. Xander went and sat next to Otilia who looked like she might be checking Derek out but was doing it so subtly I couldn't tell. I went and sat on the floor and Derek followed me.

"Well. Aren't you going to introduce yourself?" Mason  asked in a chirpy voice.

"Uh, I'm a friend of Astrid's." 

"I think he meant your name dimwit," I whispered and he rolled his eyes.

"My name's Derek and I'm not a dimwit Astrid. It says to in my diploma," I laughed quietly and shook my head.

"Okay enough of the shit. Why the hell are you two glaring at the kid?" Xander spoke.

"I'm not a kid! I'm 24," Derek said and stuck his tongue out.

"You're 17!" I said and he chuckled.

"Not according to my ID."

"I'm glaring at him because the ass-" Ash began to speak but went silent when Derek's phone rang. I looked over to the screen and saw it was a blocked numbed. "Aren't you gonna answer that?"

Derek was silent for a few minutes and then sighed." Yeah be right back," he answered the call and left the room. Everyone was silent for some reason but it made it all so much creepier. It was like we just moved to a cabin in the woods and something would just smash through the window and kill us. Derek came back after I don't know how long and handed me the phone. "Talk to her before she decides to come and kill me," I looked at him weirdly.
