----Alexis' POV----

Well, this is it. A new life. I thought I'd be more excited... Oh well. I was in the car with my new family and the only sound was the engine and the radio but I wasn't paying attention to anything. My mind was completely blank. Nothing to think of - or at least nothing good to think of. Wait... I'm still in high school. Dammit, I have to enroll in a new school. WHY?!?!? Well that sucks. Oh god, I'm supposed to study and be the stereotypical shy-goody-two-shoes-nerdy-girl. Why couldn't I stick with my own personality? I mean it's not like I'll be able to stay like this forever. I give it two weeks before I blow it. Wait, can you make a bet against yourself? No that's way too sad. Okay the bet is against me and Astrid. No, I mean me and Alexis. Oh well it's the same thing. Hey! I haven't sworn yet. This is great progress. It is progress right?

After ten more minutes we pulled up at a HUGE house. Ok ok, it was average size but compared to where I used to live it's a fuc- I mean, um, fudging mansion. Phew, almost swore. But this is in my head so it's ok to swear here. Right? Oh forget it. Mind, I command you to go blank. Nope I'm thinking again. Dammit.

We all got out the car and I put on a fake smile and looked up at the house. It looked like it was around 3 stories high and it was a white painted house with a nice, well kept front garden.

"Welcome home sweetie!" Carly welcomed me kindly as we walked up to the house. Should I call it home? No... Not yet at least. My home is still with Derek and the others. "Xander, please show Astrid to her new room and give her a tour."

Xander nodded and we went into the house but before I could look around properly we were running up the steps. Upstairs looked like a teenage dominated area with a living room full with games, DVDs and consoles. Down a corridor were loads of rooms with most doors personally covered.

"Okay, so first door on the left is Mason's. He's 14 and a bit wild." Xander spoke as he knocked on the door. The door burst open and a short kid with brown hair and brown eyes opened the door.

"Hey! Are you the new kid?!" He said and I nodded.

"Y-Yeah." I spoke quietly. He nodded, seeming to realize I was shy.

"Bye doofus, we gotta go," Xander said and shut the door in his face. "Why are you acting so shy?" He asked me and I shrugged.

"Dunno. Guess it's different talking to you." I replied and looked at the next door along which was to the left again.

"Hmm, okay. Well this leads to the bathroom and the next room is mine. So fourth room is Kyle's but he's kinda distant nowadays so ignore him if he's a douche," wait... Kyle?! Please don't be the kyle I know. "Last room is Otilia's and she is 16." He just opened the door to her room and I saw a normal teenage room. Various posters. None I recognize and a pink bed and pink rug.

"Hey Xander and new kid. What's your name?" She asked me.

"Astrid." I spoke but this time a bit louder than a whisper.

"Wow, cool name! Have you two seen Kyle today? He looked kinda... Well you know, not himself." I shook my head and Xander shrugged.

"Just leave him," we walked out and across the hallway to what I presumed was my room. "Oh, in case you didn't notice, almost every room has a label so we don't get lost. And this is your room which you can decorate and do whatever you want with." I nodded and opened the door. It was pretty big and plain but I just through my bags inside and closed the door again so we could carry on with the tour. "At the end of the hallway is a balcony and you've already seen the games area. The attic is pretty boring so lets go back downstairs."

"Sure Mr.Guide," I smiled and he just smiled and shook his head at the name. Running down the stairs we walked around and saw a bathroom, kitchen, tv room, music/recording room and a huge area of space which I guess can be used for parties. Walking back around we saw Carly and Justin about to leave.

"So sorry but we must leave for work. You can make yourselves dinner, we don't know what time we'll be back. Bye," Carly waved as they both left for their work.

"Oh yeah, they always leave early and come back late and go on trips which is great as we get the house to ourselves!" I chuckled and smirked.

"So party every week."

"Of course not! Party every day!" I chuckled and then the door opened again. It was Kyle. I never knew he was adopted... Oh god! I hope he doesn't recognize me. "Oh and that moody grouch is Kyle."

"Fuck off X." What? He was generally so kind.

"Don't mind him. I think he's just sad because he has to move schools. Someone at his old one just died," Xander said. That person was me...

"Yeah, I knew her," and she isn't dead. She is right here in front of you.

"Sorry for your loss."

"Oh don't be. And does everyone call you X?"

"Most of the time. Oh yeah, we all go to the same school and you'll be starting on Monday." I nodded and we parted to our separate ways; me to my room and him to I don't know where. When I got to my room I stared at the door for a few minutes before getting out a black sharpie and writing 'ASTR!D' on it. I don't know why I didn't use a real 'i', oh well. I walked into my room and started unpacking my stuff which didn't really take too long. I was sitting on my bed staring up at the ceiling wondering what to do with my room. I mean, they did say I could personalize it so why not? Wait. New personality. Aw shit. My room is gonna have to represent Astrid not Alexis. But... No one would really come in here. I could still make it me! But with out all my posters and that kinda stuff. Oh well, it's still gonna be half me. Just then there was a knock on my door. I got up and walked over to the door and opened it to see... Ash? What the actual fuck?! Shh, calm down. You don't know him.

"Hello?" I asked quietly hoping my voice wouldn't be recognised.

"Is Kyle here?" He asked with his still jerky tone. Guess it wasn't just me he was an ass to - I mean Alexis.

"No, I'm not sure where he is," I spoke shyly, keeping up my act. He just nodded and walked away. I let out a sigh and walked back into my room, shutting the door again. I went back to my bed and checked my phone for messages but there were none. Well I really am alone now. I started to play music off of my phone and 18 Years by Daughtry' came on. I smiled and layed back, resting my head on my new pillow. No thoughts and not entirely sleeping but just in a calm state. Wow it was really peaceful here. I think I can get use to this.
