I woke up in the same room as when I passed out in visual class. I sat up a little too fast and groaned, resting my hand on my head. My groan attracted the nurse and she walked over to me.
"I'm glad your finally up. We gave you a liquid version of cruacion so your head and ankle shouldn't hurt too bad now.
She was right, my ankle hardly hurt at all, I had even forgotten about until just a second ago.
We need to look at your ankle and take X-rays to make sure nothing is broken.
She lifted the sheet like blanket that was covering me and I got a slight chill. She walked over to the wall typed a few numbers in a key pad and she pulled out a machine that looked almost like what a dentist uses to to take pictures of your teeth.
The nurse pulled the machine over to my leg and then carefully took of my shoe and sock. She set them on the ground. She pulled up my pant leg a little, then went back to her desk area were she wrote a few things on a clip board. She came back with a cloth and, placed it on my foot. My foot was still purple and swollen. The cloth came almost up to my knee so it covered my foot, ankle, and most of my leg.
The nurse positioned the machine so that it hovered just above my ankle. And then the she put it away. Also taking the cloth of my foot.
"Aren't you going to take the X-rays?" I asked her confused
"I just did." She replied without saying another word. She went over to her desk and did a few things on her laptop. I wasn't close enough to see what she was looking at on the computer but her face showed she was very confused. A minute later she walked back over to me carrying the laptop. She set down the laptop on one of those moving tables that doctors have.
"Your X-Ray showed up as fine. Your ankle is not broken or twisted or hurt in any way. But your ankle is swollen and has turned colors. I'm not exactly sure why this is, so I am going to contact Mr. Matsson the head doctor to come look at you."
"Could it have just been that the machine isn't working?" I asked but she only laughed at that and disappeared out the door.
I waited for about ten minutes before the nurse came back in this time a older man followed her. He looked to be in his mid fifties. He had aging hair color and wore a thin white coat that reached down to his knees. He wore big round glasses on his nose.
"I am Mr. Matsson, head doctor here. I'm just going to ask a few questions, can I  take a look at your ankle" he began "how did you do this to your ankle? On this sheet here it says unknown." Mr. Matsson said showing me the paper.
"I don't know."
"What do you mean?"
"I was minding my own business doing nothing out of the ordinary when it just started hurting." I could tell he was very confused. "You see Sydney and I-" he cut me off.
"Whose Sydney?"
"My neighbor, she came to the camp too. But Mr. Timothy told us that we have a bond which allows us to feel the same pain and combine our powers. It's really confusing but it the truth. I just needed a pain killer, but now I'm fine. Except my head still kind of hurts."
Mr. Matsson was silent. The nurse behind him stared at me.
"What?"
"Can I look at those X-rays?" He asked the nurse
She nodded and went back to her desk were she retrieved the pictures, then handed them to Mr. Matsson.
"Thank you" he said flipping through the images." Well it does appear there is nothing wrong with your ankle, but it's still swollen to half its original size. There is a shot to make the swelling go but I-" I cut him off
"Great, can you give that to me now so I can go?"
He stood up without a word and prepared the shot. He injected the needle and immediately the swelling went down. It was like seeing a balloon deflate in slow motion.
"If you have any more problems come talk to me immediately."
"Great" I said practically out the door already.
It was still early morning and there wasn't many people outside. From a distance I saw a boy go behind a building obviously trying not to be seen. I thought he looked a little suspicious so I carefully followed him. When I was close enough to him I saw he wore all black, black pants, black long sleeve shirt, and even a black mask that covered his face so I couldn't tell who it was. The boy continued into the woods on a trail but soon cut off into an un groomed trail. I had to step very carefully to keep from being heard.
I followed him for about a half an hour and I was giving up hope that we were going anywhere but soon we came to a clearing. I couldn't quite see what was ahead because I didn't want to get to close but I could hear the rushing of water and I figured we must be by either a waterfall or rapids.
He kept going and I got closer to the clearing to see that it was in fact a waterfall. The boy climbed up rocks by the side of the waterfall then jumped and disappeared behind it.
I got to the rocks and started climbing only I went a lot slower then the boy. I grabbed a rock above me and it came lose as I was pulling myself up. I quickly grabbed another rock and steadied myself and I continued the rest of the way testing each rock before I put all my weight on it.
When it came time to jump to the hidden ledge behind the waterfall I realized how difficult this was going to be. I tried to get a good foot position but nothing was working. The rock I was stepping on began to crumble I quickly looked for a different rock to stand on but there was none. I needed to jump now. I took a deep breathe closed my eyes and jumped.
I landed perfectly on my feet with only a slight tingle in them.
The ledge continued on creating a tunnel. The ceiling had a perfect arch and the walls had not a single rock out of place making them as smooth as the top of my grandmothers chocolate frosted chocolate cake.
I nearly sprinted trying to catch up with the boy. As I got deeper into the tunnel it got dark; really dark. When I was just about to turn back because I couldn't see anything I ran into a door. A light appeared just above the door. I reached for the door knob but stopped realizing the boy could be just behind this door. I put my ear to it and listened for a few minutes. Hearing nothing I opened the door just a crack. Still hearing nothing I creeped inside, closing the door behind me. Inside this room was twelve doors. The boy could have gone into any of them.
I decided to try each door until I found the one the boy went into. I opened the first door a crack. I could see nothing and hear nothing so I opened it all the way.
Suddenly a dagger came hurdling towards me. I ducked just in time the blade cutting a piece of my hair. I shut the door hard. I turned around leaning on the door. I took deep breathes trying to calm myself down. In the door directly in front of me was the dagger.
Someone just tried to kill me.
