I covered my head to protect it from the falling rocks. "We need to get out of here." I yelled
    "No wait." Courtney said "Look"
I looked over were her finger was pointed. A section of the floor had come out creating a bridge over to the map.
    I almost laughed.
Isaac put a foot on the bridge testing its strength. Then both feet. Nothing happened. "It seems sturdy enough. Just to be safe though we should only have a couple people cross the bridge. Syd? Ryan? You two want to come with me."
    "Yah."
I nodded following him across the bridge.
Isaac took Sydney's hand. I think couldn't tell if he was just helping her or if they were in love now. I had seen them howling hands a couple of times before too.
We made it across the bridge with no problems. The island was tiny and hardly fit all three of us. The map was covered in a glass case.
I smashed my hand into the glass and the case shattered.
Sydney grabbed the map wiping of the tiny glass pieces and then rolled it up.
An ear piecing screech came from behind us. The walls shook from the sound.
Turning around we saw a horrid beast. He was huge fifteen feet tall and thick in the waist. It was covers in fur and had wings like a bat. The body shape was of a man. It had ripped muscles from head to foot. And had vicious red eyes that gleamed in the dark.
It screeched again. I covered my ears.
Sydney pulled out her bow and notched an arrow. Isaac took out his sword. Following their example I also took out my sword. I saw that on the other side of the bridge everyone else had done the same.
"Travelers!" It yelled. "Put back what is not your and you may leave peacefully if you choose not too then I will have to deal with you." As if to prove its point it opened it mouth and breathe fire.
"What is this? It's like a half human, half bat, half dragon creature."
"Technically you can't have three haves. And it's called a wallabim "
    "Not the point."
    "Should we run for it?"
"No, we would never outrun it."
    "So what do we do?"
    "We fight."
Sydney shot an arrow. It hit him right on the side but it bounced of him like it was hitting metal.
The wallabim laughed. "You'll have to do a lot better then a silly arrow to stop me.
"Aim for its feet or nose the rest of its body is like solid armor and you won't even make a cut."
Sydney notched another arrow and shot it but it easily moved out of the way missing the arrow.
She tried again several times and every time she missed. "It's so much easier hunting because you know what way the animal will move. With this beast it could move any way and I'll have no idea which way before it happens." She grunted
It flew down over us breathing fire.
I jumped out of the way onto the bridge. Sydney landed on me. Her impact knocked the air out of me. I pushed her off struggling for air.
She rolled over the side and fell. Screaming.
In sync Isaac and I both yelled. "Sydney!"
The wallabim flew by her and caught her in its claws just before she hit the ground. Sydney continued to scream hysterically.
"What if she took one of her arrows and jabbed it into the wallabim's foot."
"That could work. But how do we tell her without letting the wallabim know our plan?"
    "Don't worry I got this."
    Syd?
    ahhhhhhhhhhhh!
    Get ahold of your self.
Really? I was just scooped from midair by a giant wallabim's claws and your telling me to get ahold of myself?
Um....never mind that. Use an arrow to stab the wallabim's foot since there sensitive.
    Alright.
I saw her grab an arrow and do exactly what I told her to.
The wallabim screeched and let her go. Blood dripped from the spot. The arrow still in its foot.
Sydney fell down again and was going to hit the ground when she stopped midair and was lifted back onto the bridge.
    "How did that happen?"
She pointed over to Aubrey. "She has the power of levitation." Isaac helped her up. And held her close comforting her.
There was definitely something going on with them.
"I don't know that we can beat it lets just get out of here."
    "Good idea."
We ran back over the bridge.
    "Go, go." Isaac yelled
I climbed the stairs my heart racing, practically leaping out of my chest. I could hear the wallabim's wings beating furiously behind me. The beast hardly fit through the small space.
"How do we beat this thing?" I yelled over the screeching that came from behind me.
"Little is known about the wallabim. No one has ever survived long enough to tell about it." Sydney stated
"Great way to boost my confidence."
We made it back to where Jacob was waiting for us.
    "Go,go." I yelled
Jacobs face turned white as the wallabim screeched. We all jumped onto our horses.
"You never answered my question. How do we beat this thing?" I said looking over at Sydney. Her eyes were glazed over and she sat motionless on her horse. I shook her furiously. "Syd?"
Nothing happened for several for minutes when all of a sudden she turned her head towards me attentive.
    "What happened to you."
She was silent scanning over the possible answers she could give me when finally she replied saying "I was talking to my mother."
I gave her a confused look.
    "She told me something."
I was still very confused but stayed quiet.
"She told me how." She paused again. "To defeat a wallabim."
