The substitute obviously had no idea what to do.
I stood by the dummy and tried to hit it with the sword. Everyone else had gotten the hang of it. Even Ryan started to get the hang of it.
Isaac stopped and went to get a drink when he came back he noticed my troubles.
"Hey Syd do you want some help?"
I put down my sword and sighed. "Yes please." I sat down on a bench. "Why is everyone so good at this?"
Isaac sat down next to me so close we were almost touching. I wished we were touching. I longed to hold his hand or to lean my head on his shoulder.
"This is your first year. You're not going to be great at everything right away. Most of us have at least been here last year. Don't worry about it though, pretty soon you'll be as good as me." Isaac said getting up. He handed me my sword.
"Get in your ready position"
I listened and got in my ready position.
"You want to hold your sword more like this" he said demonstrating with his own sword. He came up close to me and held my sword. His fingers overlapping mine. His arm snug next to mine. For awhile he just held it there. My heart skipped a beat. I couldn't breathe, I couldn't move. I didn't want to move. Inside I was smiling from ear to ear. He let go to let me do it on my own. I wanted him to come up close to me again.
"Now try thrust" he demonstrated how to do it and then again came up to me and helped position me his hands on mine. They were sweaty but I didn't mind. Again I couldn't breathe. I looked at him and he looked at me. His eyes were pretty a nice blue color. I felt like I should look away or do something but I didn't and neither did he. But I didn't mind. He leaned in a little and we became very close, any closer and we would be able to kiss. I let go.
He showed me each position and helped me do it. By the end of class I had each position mastered.

At lunch time I sat next to Isaac. "I really think we should go after the map." I started saying. "I know you guys are going to protest but-" Isaac cut me off
"I think your right"
"You do?" He thinks I'm I'm right. Sydney relax your over reacting.
"Yah, Mr. Timothy needs our help. We're the strongest ones here and if anyone should go it should be us." Isaac allowed that to sink in a little before adding "Besides what do we have to lose we lose our powers if we stay possible get our powers if we go."
"Well when you put it that way it sounds just fine, but Mr. Sanders even said it was really dangerous. We could lose our lives." Jacob said
"I'm going. You guys can stay if you want but I'm going and I'm going to talk about it with Mr. Timothy right now follow me if your coming." I got up without another word. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Isaac get up and then Aubrey and Courtney and then Ryan and finally Jacob rolled his eyes and got up too.
I slowed down a little allowing Isaac to catch up.
I walked into Mr. Timothy's office without even knocking and said "We want to find the lost sword."
"Absolutely not."
"If we find it we can restore anyone's powers and we can finally defeat Peter once and for all."
"No, it's too dangerous."
"If we don't everyone in this camp and maybe even others will lose their powers and Peter will take over the world."
"How do you know about Peters return?"
"It's called eavesdropping and I'm sorry it was done but it was and now we know and now we are going to find that sword."
"You are not the adult here. I will make the final decision."
"We are going"
"Who is we?"
"Me, Isaac, Aubrey, Ryan, Jacob, and Courtney. We are the strongest ones here and we need to leave before Peter takes are powers too and were hopelessly lost." I was practically yelling at him now.
"You know what fine. Go, just one question how you going to find the other pieces of the map what your first clue?"
I hadn't really thought of that so I was just quiet when Jacob cleared his thought and came up to the front by me.
He took a deep breathe and said "Sir I don't really want to go in the first place but as you know I have the gift to see parts of the future in my dreams. Just last night I had a dream. It was the six of us we were in the caves of Pollentia. In Sydney's hand she held a map. It was old a dirty on the top on it read the words part one. I know believe that we should go and find part one of the map in the caves of Pollentia."
We were all quiet after that.
"All right then, you may gather supplies and leave today." Mr. Timothy said calmly
"Thank you" I said pushing everyone out the door.
We gathered all of are supplies each of of had a horse to ride, sword, dagger, though Courtney brought two daggers, flint and stone for fire, water, food, and cruacion fruit.
We brought an extra horse to cary blankets, tents, splints for an injury, and more food and water.
We were off the very next day.

*********************************

We traveled a day in wide open wilderness. There was nothing to be seen for miles. The tall grass made my feet itchy and the bugs flied around my head. I tried swatting them but more always came back, so after awhile I got used to to the constant buzz in my ear.
That night we all sat down by the fire and ate our supper.
"Jacob, I thought you said this trip would be dangerous. We haven't come into any danger besides the danger of dying from all these stupid bugs." Aubrey said swatting at a bug coming near her food.
Isaac answered for Jacob. "All today we were traveling in our own land this is all still part of Tresion which is the territory the camp is on."
"Yeah, right now we are on the edge of our territory and tomorrow we should face some dangers being in the territory of Gesh, home to our sworn enemies. They always ware black paint on their faces as a trademark." Jacob finished
"Isn't the land of Gesh just a big jungle?" Courtney asked
"Yes, also know as a rainforest which could be good or bad. It could hide us from the enemy or it could hide the enemy from us give them an easier way to attack. The trees should hide us from the sun though so it won't be as bad as today, hopefully." Jacob said.
"Not necessarily, we will be traveling on the forest floor so it will still be pretty warm even though there isn't much light. Temperature can range from anywhere between sixty-eight to Ninety-three degrees fahrenheit." I say
"And it rains ninety days out of a whole year so let's hope it's not the rainy season."
"We better get to bed we have a long day tomorrow." Courtney said yawning.
The next morning I was up before the sun. I stood up and rubbed the sleep from my eyes.
I saw Isaac sitting on the edge of a cliff alone. I walked up to him.
"Hey, what are you doing?" I ask
"Just thinking."
"About?"
"About how you should sit down next to me so we can watch the sun rise together." He said looking straight at me.
I blushed a little and sat down next to him. He said together. Together means with someone or something, he wants me to watch the sun rise with him. Duh, you don't have to spell it out.
"Sleep good?" He asked
"Yeah" neither of us said anything for a moment. I wanted to break the silence. I didn't want to feel awkward sitting and talking with him. I had to say something anything. "Are you scared?"
"About?"
"About this whole thing. Leaving everyone and everything, going into some foreign land, possibly dying."
"Honestly yeah. I've never done anything like this. How about you?"
"I'm terrified."
"You do a great job of hiding it. Your always so brave and act like you don't have a single doubt in yourself or what your doing. I wish I was like that."
"Are you kidding you seem like your on top of the world, like you can conquer anything life throws at you.You are so courageous."
"My grandfather always told me courage isn't about bravery, it's about fear, and how you overcome that fear."
"That's really nice."
"My grandfather was always coming up with stuff like that."
Isaac's fingers touched mine and then retracted. I looked down at my fingers. Isaac's were inching closer and closer to mine until they overlapped. I flipped my hand over so that we were holding hands. I looked up at Isaac and then at our touching hands. I smiled at him and he smiled back.
I didn't feel awkward at all now. I wanted to rest my head on his shoulder. But would that be taking it too far? I didn't care though. I rested my head on his shoulder and Isaac didn't really seem to mind.
Isaac scooted a little closer to me until we were almost touching. We sat, watching the sun come up together.
