I was the last one up and everyone had already eaten breakfast and had started to pack up.
I ate as fast as I could not wanting to slow the team down. And we're off again. Within the hour we were in the rainforest.
We had to give the horses a brake after awhile so we started walking with Isaac in the lead. I was in the very back and couldn't see anything in font, but when I heard a yell for help I let go of my horse and pushed to the front where Isaac and Jacob were sinking into the ground.
"What happened."
"It's quick sand. I fell in and then Jacob fell in trying to get me out. Could you get a long stick or rope or something to help pull us out."
The rest of us split up and ran into the trees. Frantically looking for a lose branch of some sort. I saw a small tree that had fallen. Its roots were still in the ground so I had to pull a little to get it out. When the tree finally broke free the end hit something. I turned around and saw that it was a man.
"Sorry, I said and turned back around to go." I froze and slowly turned around again. The man I had bumped for no ordinary man. He a big man, fully dressed in armor, with back paint on his face. A soldier of Gesh.
I froze, stiff with fear. The soldier pulled out his sword. And placed on my neck. He wasn't putting enough pressure to draw blood but he was still pushing hard enough that it hurt really bad.
"Where are your friends?" He asked
I couldn't say anything. Even if I could I would never tell him.
"Where?" He said a little louder pushing the blade into my neck so that it blood trickled down my neck. I winced trying not to scream.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw another Gesh soldier. "Sir" he said "We found four others. Two in quick sand. And seven horses."
"Well get them out and bring them to me."
"Yes sir."
Only four? With me there are five of us. They didn't find someone.
"Are there anymore?" He said to me blade still on my neck
I gulped. He may never find out if I tell him no. But if he does find out- I gulped again. "No"
The soldier bushed the blade into my next and said "Move."
I did. We walked back to were the horses and Isaac and Jacob were. Isaac and Jacob were now out of the quick sand but they to had soldiers  standing next to them bushing a blade into their necks.
Blood on my neck now dripped onto my shirt. I really wanted to scream right now but I knew it would do no good. Maybe even get me killed. So I tried to steady my breathing. I looked into Isaac's eyes. I expected to see fear which was probably plastered onto my face, but I saw courage and determination. It gave me a little spark of hope.
Out of the trees Aubrey and Courtney stumbled out. Each had their hands tied behind their backs and when Courtney fell she had no hands to catch her fall so she fell right on her face. The soldier behind her pocked her with his sword. As she got up I saw blood drip down her back from the soldier. Courtney's face was all scratched up now. Her usual perky smile was gone.
Sydney is the one they didn't find. We are relying on her to save us. We are doomed.
The soldier behind me pushed the sword into my neck one more time to make me walk. The other soldiers did the same.
We walked for about a mile before we came along anything. It was the most treacherous mile of my life. I kept thinking about my death and how now I kind of wish I was home and had listened to Sydney and found out how to get home. But it was all  too late now.
We finally came across the Gesh castle and they brought us straight to their dungeon holding room. According to their law no one was allowed into the actual prison without seeing the king first. At the time the king was away so we were sent into the dungeon holding room. Which was basically an empty room with stone walls and floor. There was no furniture and a single guard was stationed inside and out of the room.
They had bound our arms with thick ropes and dragged us into the room like a dog going to the pound.
I sat down against the wall like everyone else. Courtney was patting the scratches on her face. I saw her wipe away a tear. She noticed me looking at her and gave a me a face that said. I am not not crying.
"We're done for." I said sighing
"Syd will find us." Isaac said in barely a whisper so the guard couldn't hear.
"I doubt that" I mumbled to myself.
"What?"
"Nothing. I saw we don't wait around for Sydney and we get out of here our selves."
"No, we should just stay here."
"I suppose we could catch up with her on our way out of here." Aubrey said
"Well alright, so what's the plan?"
I smiled coming up with an idea. "Watch."
I walked up to the guard. "Um, excuse me?"
"What?"
"Well I just thought I would tell you that you shoe is untied."
The guard looked down and I took the moment to quickly grab his sword from its sheath and hit him on the head with the bunt of it. He fell to the ground unconscious.
Jacob ran up to me. "How did you know to do that?"
"I didn't, I saw it in a movie once. Here I handed Jacob the sword cut my hands lose." He did them he cut everyone's else's hands lose. I bent down and picked up the guards keys.
"Wait what about the guard on the other side?" Aubrey asked
"Did you think I would do this without a plan?"
Aubrey stared at me her face saying really.
"Well Isaac has the gift so that he can look like someone else, right? Well why don't we make him look like the guard and then have him put on the guards uniform and go tell the other guard to go do something."
"That's actually not a bad idea." Aubrey said
"Thanks, now help me get the armor off of him."
We took the armor off of him and Isaac piece by piece out it on himself. When he was done I couldn't help but make a joke. "Wow Isaac you look a little old. With all those wrinkles."
"Ha, ha very funny."
It was kind of true though he had done a good job he looked exactly like the guard; big, old, long gray beard, and ugly.
"Now hide in that corner. Courtney and Aubrey you two turn invisible. With less people to see maybe we can get away with just the two of you." Isaac said
We hid in the corner, Aubrey and Courtney invisible.
Isaac took the key and opened the door.
"Hey" he said talking to the other guard. "The prisoners vanished."
"What do you mean?"
"I was watching over them like I was supposed to when they all just vanished. You go tell someone and I'll stay here to make sure that they aren't pulling some trick."
"Okay."
"And hand me your sword. If they are still in here and pulling some kind of trick I'll need it."
The other guard shrugged and handed him the sword, then hurried down the hall and disappeared.
Isaac turned back into himself and took of all the armor but kept the sword and handed the other one to me.
"Are you sure I should be the one holding the sword?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well I haven't exactly have years of experience."
"You'll be fine." He said and walked out of the room. We all followed.
The hallway was dark and had only a few lanterns every few yards.
When we came to the door leading out of the dungeon Isaac stopped. I didn't expect this so I ran into him.
He turned around and shushed me. Then he put his ear to the door.
"All clear" he said and opened the door. I stepped through the door and ran into Isaac again who had stopped.
"What?"
"The floor it booby trapped."
I didn't know about booby trapped but it sure did look funny. The floor was made of squares and each had a different design or symbol.
"Your right I can feel it" Courtney says. I forgot that she can sense when danger is near.
Isaac took a small stone and threw it onto one of the squares on the floor. From the left side of the room dozens of arrows flew across the room. If anyone had been standing there they would have been a goner.
"I see what you mean." Aubrey says. I can hear the fear in her voice.
"So how do we get past it?" I ask
"Well most likely there is some time of pattern here. Look at these two symbols this one is a pair of wings and this is wind. What do they have in common?"
We all thought for a moment.
"The legend of how the land of Gesh was created. The wings symbolize the bird and the wind for when the bird blows King William the first into existence. And here this next symbol is a man it must be King William. We just have to match the symbols to the story. Let's try it." Isaac said stepping onto the square that had the symbol of wings on it. Nothing happened so the wings was the first symbol.
Isaac stepped onto the wind symbol nothing happened.
"Come on, follow me." Isaac said stepping onto another square.
I stepped onto the first square and then the second. Courtney was second to follow. We all made it over to the other side without a single scratch.
"Ryan were are you?" I heard someone say
"I'm right here."
"What are you talking about?" Courtney asked
"Someone said Ryan were are you."
"No one did." She said puzzled
"Oh, sorry."
"Ryan, where are you?" I heard it again but this time I recognized the voice it was Sydney. I looked around there was no Sydney.
"Syd?"
