I was in French, when Liam asked me for some help again. "Addy, how do you say 'I want to go to the park'," he whispered. He sat behind me so I had to lean my chair back slightly so I didn't get caught by the teacher. "He veux aller au parc," I whispered back in my French accent that I picked up after four years of classes. "Thanks," he said as he scribbled the translation down in his notes. I tapped my pencil against my notebook, getting bored with the lecture the teacher was giving. "Class, tomorrow I will be assigning your French Historian groups. So be prepared and I expect a group discussion from everyone. Also, tonight you need to-" she was cut off by the bell as it rang through the halls. The students quickly shuffled out of the room ignoring what the teacher was saying. "I need you to complete chapters eleven and twelve for your assignments tomorrow," she shouted over the noise of kids eager to leave class. "Addy, can I talk to you for a minute." Liam had one strap on his shoulder and was walking behind me. "Uh, sure. I guess." We walked out into the hall while he talked to me. "I just wanted to apologize about yesterday."

"Yesterday?"

"Yeah, about Zayn and Keegan and Marcel. They get angered easily."

"Yeah, I noticed." He darted his eyes away quick before looking back at me.

"They really aren't jerks, ya know."

"I'm sure they aren't," I said lacing my words with sarcasm. I bet Zayn set him, so I would go out with him. "Look, I know what you're trying to do Liam, but don't waste your time. I am not interested in Zayn. Especially after what he did."

He crinkled his nose creating a sour expression on his face. "You think I came here for that? I was just trying to apologize for his behaviour." I nodded my head, silently cursing my huge mouth again. "Anyway, I hope Marcel's okay."

"He's fine." I snapped.

"Okay, I should probably go."

"Wait! Liam, if you don't mind me asking, why are you friends-"

"With Keegan and Zayn?" He finished for me. "I could ask you the same. You and Louis and Marcel." He raised his eyebrows at me. "It doesn't seem right." He put his hand on his backpack strap and walked away on his heels.

I got to my locker to find Jennifer staring at me. "What was that about?" I didn't feel like dealing with her drama right now. "Nothing," I lied. I grabbed my supplies for World History and walked to the classroom. The day was usual, but Marcel was acting strange. He was hesitant before speaking to me and was always fiddling with his fingers. At lunch he sat at the other side of the table, next to Louis. He whispered words in his ear causing Marcel to smile and would occasionally give him an encouraging pat on the back. As we all gathered our stuff and walked out of the cafeteria Marcel stood in front of me, blocking my path. "I need to get to class Marcel!" I stepped left, trying to go around him, but he stepped left too. I went right and he went right, mimicking my move. "I'm taking you out tonight. Look nice. I'll pick you up at eight." He sighed and then turned on his heel to exit the room. I looked over at Louis who gave me a thumbs up with his cheesy smile. So that's what they were whispering about. I bit my lip, trying to contain the smile that was slowly spreading across my face. The entire day I had butterflies in my stomach, I was anxious for the date tonight. A million questions ran through my mind. How should I dress? How would Marcel dress? What was be planning? How would I convince my mom to let me go? As the day came to end, my questions did too. And before I knew it, I was at home staring in my wardrobe, trying to figure out what to wear.
