I huffed at his comment and tried to focus on where we were going. I looked through the window and saw that we were downtown. But i couldn't recognize the buildings around, so i gave up trying to look.

"Where are we going? " I whined.

"I'm not telling you," he said smiling.

"You are so stubborn, " I concluded.

He laughed at my childness as I crossed my arms in front of me and stuck my nose in the air. "Oh come on. I just want it to be a surprise." he poked my cheek to try and make me smile. "Well, i don't like surprises so that's not going to work." I said trying to hold back a smike by biting the inside of my cheek.

"Now who's being stubborn, " he mocked.

"Um, excuse me? I'm just spending too much time with you and your actions are just rubbing off on me."

"Oh yeah," he nodded his head. "I'm sure that's it," he said sarcastically.

He was so confident, I liked this Marcel. But I don't get why he wasn't confident all the time. Sometimes he seems like a fictional character that you read about. Always the target of bullying and the cliche appearance. He turned on the radio to a rock and roll channel that was playing Bon Jovi, one of my favorites. I smiled and nodded my head to the beat of 'Livin on a Prayer'. "You like this song?" He asked surprised. I nodded my head to answer his question. He turned it up more while he sang horribly. He was yelling the chorus and making noises to sound like a guitar. I rolled my eyes before joining him in the screaming of Bon Jovi. After the song ended we continued to sing, or yell, every song that came in, until he interrupted me.

"We are almost there," he said.

"yay!" I cheered. He shook his head at me, but kept his eyes glued on the road. He turned on to a brick road that I didn't recognize. "I don't think I've been here," I told trying to examine my surroundings. He shook his head quickly,"Probably not."

I could see a large body of water, I'm guessing it's a lake. There were old looking buildings around with modern people browsing them. I rolled the window down to catch a scent of the water. The salty smell filled my nose, reminding me of when I was a kid. My dad would always take me to the lake and we would hunt for hermit crabs. I would catch them and put them in a tank at home for a week. After a week, we would drive back and free them back into the lake. I was snapped out of my flashbacks when I saw a couple yelling on the streets in front of a sweets shop. As we pulled away their voices faded out and I focused back in the road. "So, where are we going?"

"How many times do I have to tell you? It's a surprise."

"Until we get there, you can stop telling me," I replied.

"We'll stop asking. Cuz we're here."

The car slowly came to a stop on a wooden lot overlooking the lake. We both got out of the car only to be hit by an extremely cold wind, making me shiver. "What are we doing out here?" I asked through gritted to me with my hands on my arms. If only I had a worn a thicker coat. "We are going on a boat." My jaw dropped as I followed Marcel down to the harbor. "Marcel, if you haven't noticed, it is freezing out here!" He pursed his lips as in deep thought. "Yeah, I guess so." But he kept walking to the boat anyway. It actually wasn't that cold when the wind wasn't blowing, but that was a rare occasion

"How did you even get a boat?"

"It's my step dad's. He let me borrow it."

"Oh," was all I said. We walked a little further until Marcel stopped abruptly. "Here she is!" He exclaimed, his arms open wide as if presenting the boat to me. It was a small boat with a deck in the back and a lounging area inside. Sorry, but I don't speak boat terminology. It had black roofing over the entire thing, hopefully it would keep the wind out. It had 'the Ole-Mary' written on the side in bold, black letters. It was a cute small boat, but not something that would hold a family.

"Ladies first," Marcel said. He outstretched his hand for me so he could help me in. I gladly took it noticing the huge step below. I held into his hand as He helped me lower myself into the boat and then jumped in after me. He walked over to the wheel and put the key in the ignition. "So, where are we going." He smiled up at me, "One of my favorite places." He turned the key to the left and the engine started to come alive. The floor was buzzing beneath my feet from the powerful engine. I sat down on the cushioned seat across from Marcel as the boat pulled away from the harbor. We were silenced by the roar if the wind and the loud rev of the engine. I put my hair up in a hair tie to keep the hair out of my face, since the wind was blowing it in all different directions. "It'a right over there." Harry yelled over the crashing of waves and wind. He pointed to a strip of land that wasn't far from the harbor. It had stones on the shore and the rest was covered in sand, with grass spurting out in random places. It was Beautiful, sort of like a small island.
