I took off the moist shirt to toss into the blue locker. "But he came back to class?" Jennifer sprayed some perfume on her neck.
"Yeah."
"And he didn't say anything to you?"
"No. It's weird. I don't think I did anything." She popped a hip, one hand resting on it. "Maybe he was just having a bad day. At least he talked to you." She pointed out. Yeah, but that's all he said to me. The only word he said to me all day was "hi." And he didn't even sound happy to see me. Maybe I'm just being a drama queen about this.
"He's a boy. He's going to be moody."
"Yeah, I guess you're right." I sighed.
"God. You sound whipped!" Jennifer
laughed. I pulled on my white shirt and pulled my red hoodie over it. "I am not whipped! I don't even love him!"
She laughed again at me, "You sound like a worried wife." I frowned a little, locking my locker. I could finally go home. "Stop it. We're just friends." She nodded disbelievingly at me, locking her locker too. "Maybe you could try texting him again."
"Yeah. Maybe I will." We walked out of the gym and outside onto the gray pavement. "Did you forget my request?"
"What request?" She rolled her eyes at me. She must not believe that I have no clue what she's talking about. "Louis' number."
"Why can't you just ask him?" I groaned. "Many reasons. One. He is terrifying. Two. He scares me. Three. I don't think he likes me. Even as a person."
"Then why do you want his number?" Her shoulder slouched a little," He's hot." It was my turn to roll my eyes at her. "You're ridiculous!" I shoved her lightly. She laughed with me before coming close and saying lowly to me,"Here comes Liam." I looked up and saw that she was right. Liam was sauntering straight towards us. "Hi Addy." I waved to Liam as he halted in front of us. He looked uncomfortable, but I wasn't going to comment. I've learned before that my big mouth gets me into more trouble than I would like. "Um. I think my mom's here. Bye Addy. I'll text you later." She told me. "Liam." She curtly nodded. I knew she wasn't very fond of him, but at least she tried. I could only think about how she abandoned me in a very uncomfortable situation. I just didn't know why Liam was talking to me. He just smiled at me, then looked around his eyes glancing at people quickly. I wasn't understanding what was happening.
"Why are you here?"
Crap. There goes my mouth again. It seems to be that I can't keep my thoughts in my head. "Sorry, that was mean. I just mean what are you here with me? Like now? Where's Zayn and Keegan?" He smiled quickly, but it faded just as quick.
"Yeah," he dragged out.
"They're with Louis."
"Louis?"
"Louis," he repeated. The gears in my head started turning. I guess Louis was leaving behind Marcel and finding a new "group". Maybe it's better for both if them. Louis can be reckless and wild without Marcel warning him of the consequences. And Marcel can do what he wants without Louis snarling at everyone who looks at Marcel the wrong way. "It shocked me too." He added. "They didn't really like me hanging out with you." My mouth parted to speak, but I thought it would be better not to. 'Cuz they are such a good influence on Liam than I am.'But I swallowed the thought and hid it away.
"I'm sorry." I finally said. He just shrugged his shoulders. "So why are you here? If they don't like me?" My curiosity got the best of me.
"They don't tell me what I can and can't do. If they think they control me, they're wrong. Very wrong." I guess he's right. They have no power to control him. And Liam can talk to whomever he wants. I just nodded my head in response so he knows that I understand his reasoning. After a long silence that felt like an eternity, I finally spoke again. "Have you seen Marcel?" He shook his head. I should've known. "But Keegan told me that they talked to him. They tried to apologize for what they did." I rolled my eyes. There is no way in hell that Zayn and Keegan would want to apologize to anyone, especially Marcel. "I don't believe it." He shrugged his shoulders again at me. I couldn't tell if he couldn't believe it either or if he did and didn't want to express his opinions about it. "I should go." I said after another long silence between us. Besides the other conversations around us.
"Yeah me too. See you tomorrow Addy." We both walked our separate ways to our cars. I still couldn't believe what happened today. Marcel being in a horrible mood for no reason and Louis trying to ruin his reputation not that the one he had was very different from the one his friends have.
-Are you okay?
I texted Marcel. I didn't know what else to say. But I needed to figure out what I did to Marcel. If it was even my fault.
