Principal Cinch had seen all of that and smirked. She finally understood the reason why Canterlot High had been improving so much: they had magic!

"Ahem!" Celestia said from behind Cinch, who turned around to face her.

"You can't possibly call that a fair race!" Cinch exclaimed.

"Principal Cinch, we all saw what happened. You can't think that CHS had some kind of advantage."

"Can't I? Even without your trained tact plans, your students have wings!"

"Well, the race certainly had some — extenuating circumstances. Perhaps we should end the games now and declare a tie."

"A tie? Was this your strategy all along? To force us into accepting you as equals? I think not! The games will continue and Crystal Prep will continue to succeed despite your antics in whatever performance regiment your students are on." Cinch then walked away.

"I'm sorry I couldn't stop all this from happening," Sunset said to Celestia once Cinch was gone

"I'm sorry I couldn't stop all this from happening," Sunset said to Celestia once Cinch was gone. She and the rest of the Rainbooms had heard everything Cinch told Celestia.

"It's not your fault, Sunset," Celestia replied.

"Isn't it? I should know how to control the magic I bought here. But I don't! I let everyone down. And now Principal Cinch thinks we're cheating."

"It doesn't matter what Principal Cinch thinks." Celestia put a hand over Sunset's shoulder.

"But it does!" Sunset pulled away from Celestia's grip

"But it does!" Sunset pulled away from Celestia's grip. "The students here at CHS don't just want to win, they want to beat Crystal Prep. It isn't going to count if the other side doesn't really think they lost. Crystal Prep is never going to believe we won fair and square if there's magic around, and that magic is only around — because of me."
