chapter i | i'm just a moment

I looked up at the voice, I knew that voice from somewhere. It sounded so familiar.

I saw a guy with dark hair that had blonde streaks in it and was sticking up. He was wearing a shirt that said Boner on it, and a pair of black skinny jeans. 

"Jack?"  Suddenly remembering who it was. I was in shock and my mouth was probably hanging open.

"Liz, is that really you?" he smiled happily. I didn't say anything but run around the corner and jump into this arms that he opened for me. 

We hugged for awhile, and it felt great. I missed him so much, I wanted to cry and scream and just hug him forever.

"I can't believe it's you." I breathed out into his chest.

"I know, I never thought I'd see you again." he said quietly.

"Wait, what?" the boy beside him said.

Jack pulled away, "This is Liz." he smiled at me, slinging an arm over my shoulder.

The boys eyes got big, "As in the Liz?" he asked Jack. 

I felt my cheeks burn a little, "Oh my god! I'm Alex! Jack's other best friend!" he quickly wrapped me in hug. "Jack literally doesn't stop talking about you." he said in my ear.

I smiled and looked at Jack who was completely unaware that Alex had said that.

Alex's phone went off and he pulled away and answered it, "Hello? Yeah, I know, we are, almost done yes, okay. We're hurrying, bye." he hung up and looked at Jack.

"We have to go, but you should come to the show tonight." he smiled at me. 

I looked at Jack who was pulling out his phone, "Give me your number, there's no fucking way I'm loosing you again!" 

I put my number in and smiled at him. "What show?" I scrunched my eyebrows together.

Jack smiled widely, "There is so much catching up, I'm in a band. All Time Low. Check us out. Alex sings, I play guitar, and we have a show at the venue downtown tonight. You should totally come. I'll put your name on the list, you have to come, please." he rambled.

"Jack, of course I'll come." I smiled.

"I can always get the girls to come, see." Jack winked at Alex and they both started laughing. I think my jaw dropped a little, "Not like that!" I hit him playfully.

"We're just messing, Liz." Alex smiled at me. "Here, give me your number too, Jack's never around his phone and if he is he's to busy on twitter." Alex chuckled.

I put my number in and smiled at them. "Well we have to get going, Jack or I will text you about the details for the show." Alex quickly hugged me and I turned to Jack.

He hugged me instantly, "You promise you'll come Liz? I don't want this to be the last time I see you." he mumbled.

"I promise Jacky." we continued hugging until Alex told us that they seriously had to go and practically pulled Jack out of the store.

I sat down and it all hit me.

I just saw Jack, as in Jack Barakat, my old best friend. I thought I had lost him, but he was here. And I was going to see him again. It made me smile but I was slightly worried. Did I want to go down this path? It could dig up a dark past. But its not like I had to even talk about my mom? Maybe he wouldn't bring it up.

I walked over to the music and looked for a All Time Low CD and popped it in the player, letting it blast through the store and clear my thoughts.

JACK'S POV

"And then Alex dragged me out of the store." I finished telling the story to Rian and Zack and they sat there.

"So this was Elizabeth the girl from 2nd grade, your old best friend, and you just ran into her? What's the chances of that." Rian said shocked, sitting back against the couch of the bus.

"She's still my best friend." I added, smiling widely.

I still couldn't believe I saw her. It was a dream come true. I never forgot about her, she was best friend for fucks sakes! 

She had changed so much, she seemed to dress darker, and she wore a lot of make up, which she didn't need.

Alex walked out from the bunks saying he had texted her the news about the concert and I smiled, I was going to see her again!

"She's really cool guys, and she's super pretty. You'll love her." Alex told the guys. 

I shot him a glare, "My best friends off the table Alex, so don't even try to get with her."

The guys looked at me with a shocked expression. "I don't even know her Jack, and I wouldn't do that." Alex defended himself.

"Good." I sat back and started thinking about her. She looked sad when we saw her, like she was hiding something. I hated it, she was my best friend and I didn't want her sad.

I pulled out my phone,

To: The Liz (;
Hey, come to the venue early! I'll tell them to let you, so we can spend time together.

I smiled thinking of the name she had put in my phone for her. A few minutes later my phone went off.

From: The Liz (;
Okay, just got off work. I'll change and then head over. See you and Alex soon! Ps checked out your band, you guys kill! xx

I smiled and typed a quick 'thanks' before putting my phone away. "Liz is going home to change and then shes gonna come hang out with us." I told the guys.

"Cool." they all replied.
