The black pen ink, combined perfectly with the rosy pink paper.

I read the note again, as the ghost of a smile started to form upon my lips.

"Morning Jade! Oh my, the craziest thing ever happened yesterday " rolled his eyes Joel, as he spoke up beside me.

" you decided you were gonna stop being such a douchebag? " I grin.

"Just because I don't wanna hook up with you , doesn't make me one " he smiled calmly, standing right infront of his locker.

"You...you little piece of cow manure!" I said angrily through gritted teeth, shoving the note in the pocket of my jeans.

"Is that that nerd language for poop?" He asked , cocking an eyebrow.

"Only a fellow nerd would know " I smirked , grabbed my adequate binder, and walked away.

" oh and by the way, you almost gave me a face paper cut yesterday! You chica loca, quit throwing papers at peoples' face !" I heard him shout, behind me.

So he did see me after all.

Our teacher spoke , no, he rambled on and on about Variables but It all went in one ear, and out the other.

I wasn't in the mood for Precalc, or English or Active physics, not even history.

Not to mention lunch, when Joel had invited one of his new 'lady friends' over to our table for lunch.

So Cindy wasn't the only one, huh?

Every long class period, for the rest of the day, I sat there wondering, thinking to myself : who . Who was this boy that haunted my thoughts . Had we ever talked? Had a word between us ever crossed?
Was there a history behind us?

But most importantly : why? Why would he ever like me? Cheese fries and chick flicks me. Surrounded by so many , but of all only one of them actually knew a little about me. That one freak with the anxiety attacks, the one who nearly cut too deep freshman year, but against all odds, was still here.

Sure, much had changed, visibly, and it was all because of Christopher. People only 'liked' me, because I was friends with him.

But had I really changed? The scars , now barely visible, were still there.

So why dear boy, why would you ever find interest in such a messed up freak?

[later that day]

"UGH! The one time I actually need a favour! " I groaned loudly in frustration, as I read my dad's text.

Dad: sorry mija something came up and I can't pick you up.

To Dad: porfavor😩 I'll wash ur carro

From Dad: I'm really sorry mija, but I can't.

I sat on the front door steps, outside my house, dressed in blue jeans and a white t-shirt with red polka dots and white converse, my hair in a high ponytail, with a small white purse, Feeling more Disappointed than ever.

I sighed, looking down at the green grass ahead of me, I recognized his voice before I saw him.

"What are you still doing here? You know we have to be at the hospital in fifteen minutes , right?" He shouted, from the rolled down window of the black SUV car he was driving.
