"What I'm trying to say is...Biscocho, would you like to be mi novia?"
He seemed so sincere.
Just like Sebastian had when he'd ask me out.
And perhaps that didn't justify my silence to Joel's question. But to me it did. In a way I was in the process of turning down another invite on getting my heart broken again.
"No puedo." I said in a hushed tone.
"Wait, what?" He asked again, caught by surprise.
"I can't...go through this again." I curled up in a ball bringing my knees to my chest.
"But Biscocho, I'm not like Sebastian." He tried to bring his hand up to my cheek, but I moved away.
"No Joel, please don't make it harder on me."
"I understand." He nodded, voice laced with hurt, as he stood up.
"Don't take it that way, I just don't want to be in a relationship." I stood up as well.
"It's getting late," he looked up at the dark sky dramatically, " I should probably take you back home before your parents return."
He began to pack up, and walk away.
"We could stay a little longer if you'd like." I trailed behind him.
"I'd rather we don't." He said, leaving me behind carelessly.
"Slow down!" I shouted after him.
But he didn't. He kept on walking as fast as his two feet could carry him until we got to his car, ignoring me. He didn't hold the door open for me as he usually did.
Maybe he really was pissed.
"Why does this bother you so much?" I asked as he drove me home.
"That's not important anymore," Was his only reply, as he looked out at the road ahead.
By the time we had reached our neighborhood and I had to step off, I tried to explain further into my reasons for not wanting to be in an official relationship.
But he wouldn't budge.
"Well bye." I opened the door of his vehicle.
"Jade wait." He grabbed my wrist.
It felt weird hearing him call me Jade. He never called me by my name.
"Yes?"
"I'm done. We're done. I don't want to 'just be with you' anymore, not like that. So Adios."
ELLO u fabulous earthlings! I've had a long week, and I feel like I owe u guys for not updating in so damn long, so I'll be updating at least three nights in a row!
