Chapter 40: Caramel popcorn with le ex

"Well thanks for the ride Sebastian." I said, grabbing my purse as he parked infront of St.Loulou's hospital.

Yes, unreasonable. Most definitely. But walking to school was one thing, but walking  to the hospital, that was something else. Considering the fact that all the other chicos were busy, doing God knows what, Sebastian had been my last option. He'd picked up on the very first ring, so I decided to take that as a sign I was doing the right thing.

I'd briefly explained to him why I needed a ride to the hospital, as Joel and I were both mentors.

"Wait, if they meant that part about that new rule you just mentioned, do you think they'll even let you in without Joel?" Sebastian asked, while his hands rested on the steering wheel. He was wearing shades that matched the color of his shirt, giving him that bad boy vibe.

"Yeah but they won't let me see Eli without Joel." I replied.

"Then I don't see why you can't just wait for Joel inside my car." He shrugged.

"I guess you're right." I rested my head on the headrest part of the seat.

"Want some caramel popcorn?" He asked, reaching for a bag in the back seat.

"Sure."

He took the bag and seemed to be breaking a sweat, trying to open it. "They must've sealed this thing with super glue." He laughed nervously.

"Uh Huh. Blame it on the bag." I rolled my eyes teasingly.

"No for reals, this motherfucking bag is tighter than Erick's skinny jeans." He groaned, pulling on the sides of it harder.

"You can do it, Rivera!" I cheered him on, laughing, as though he was in a soccer tournament.

Then finally, the bag popped open, sending sticky caramel popcorn flying straight at my face.

I glared at him for a mili second, "Te Voy a matar!" I said through gritted teeth.

"It must've been all that cheering you did." He laughed whole heartedly, "Now you're gonna be all sticky for the rest of the day."

"Atleast I won't be the only one." I mischievously smiled.

I grabbed the bag and scooped up the remains of the popcorn and all at once, shot them straight at him.

"Hey! It was an accident! " he covered his face with his hands,

"I don't believe in accidents!" I smirked while continuing to attack him.

"Help! I'm being attacked by this maniac!" He laughed.

"You started it!" I tickled him on the ribs, causing him to laugh so hard I feared he was gonna pee.

"Ay Ay Ay, no Jade! Baby stop!" He giggled like a little boy.

That's when I heard someone clear their throat loudly, beside us.  "Sorry to interrupt, but we're running late. Jade could you please tell your boyfriend he can't just park here if he doesn't work here." Sebastian and I froze.

"Hey buddy, nice to see you too." Sebastian grinned at Joel.

"Yeah, same..." His voice trailed off, as his eyes darted over to me, in a disapproving manner that made me feel uncomfortable.
