Chapter 5 (Angel Boy)
I woke up the next morning with a yawn. I smelled breakfast being made downstairs. I made my way downstairs with a smile. “Good morning,” I said, a sleepy smile on my face.
Aunt Elise gave me a smile. “Good morning, Lacey. You hungry? I made you a cheese omelet,” she said, holding a plate with the omelet on it.
I smiled, nodding. “Great, thank you,” I said, taking the plate.
I couldn’t hide the smile on my face. Yesterday was so romantic and cheesy. It was the greatest night ever.
I looked around. “Where is Uncle Sam?”
Aunt Elise smiled. ‘At work. I am on holidays. By the way, why are you so happy? You are really glowing today,” she said, winking.
I blushed. I can’t say I snuck out. I don’t want her getting mad at me. “Nothing. I just got a funny e-mail from my friend back home,” I lied.
Aunt Elise laughed. Just then, the doorbell rang. “I’ll get it!” Aunt Elise said, running towards the door.
I hungrily gobbled up my omelet just as I heard my aunt calling me. “Lacey, it’s Warren!”
I tried to force back my smile but I couldn’t. I went to the front door. “Hey,” I said, smiling at him.
Warren smiled, holding up a volleyball. “Hey, I was just wondering if you want to come down to the beach with me and my friends. We are playing volleyball.”
I frowned. I was an extremely shy person but I didn’t want to be rude. Finally, I nodded. “Uh, okay. I’ll just get ready, then,” I said, dashing upstairs.

I walked downstairs, where Warren was leaning against the door frame. I wore a plain, white tank top and faded blue jean shorts. I pulled my hair into a high ponytail. “Hey, you ready?” Warren asked, smiling.
I nodded. “Yeah, let’s go.”
I walked out with Warren. “Don’t worry. There are going to be some girls there so you won’t have to worry about being the only girl,” he said as we walked.
“One of your one night stands?”
Warren rolled his eyes. “Some of them.”
I gave him a flat look, knowing he was lying. “Okay! All of them,” he said, laughing.
I shook my head in disappointment. I guess you can’t help a player. “Jealous?” Warren asked, a challenging tone to his voice.
I scoffed. “Not at all, Mr. Player,” I spat back.
“Listen, about last night, I had a really great time,” Warren said, his eyes coruscating.
I smiled. “I had a really great time, too. Thank you,” I said, knocking him a bit with my shoulder.

When we got to the beach, we approached a group of guys and a small group of girls. “Hey guys, this is Lacey. She’s my new neighbour,” Warren said to the group.
They all mumbled their hello’s as I gave them a polite smile and wave. “Lacey, this is Jake, Christian, Liam, Logan, Alex, Mikayla, and Jennifer,” Warren said, pointing at each member of the huge group.
Jake came up to me. Jake had dirty blonde hair and brown eyes. He was very much the cutest guy of the group, next to Warren. “Jake Lipton,” he said, smiling at me as if I was the prey and he was the predator.
