Hinata Shouyou: Swimming

A/n got this crappy idea at a swim meet, Regionals to be specific.

You were currently at the Regionals swim meet, it was during your downtime when your phone buzzed. You paused the song you were listening to and removed your headphones. It was a text message from Hinata. It said, "Look at the stands! :D" You then did what the text message told you and looked at the stands. Immediately you spotted an orange haired boy with a bunch of people. He waved at you and you waved back at him.

You then texted him back "Who'd u bring w/ u?".

Soon a text came back, "Basically, the whole volleyball team."

"Great, way to help me remain calm... >:T"

"Sorry... :("

You just sighed at the text messages and looked back at the stands. Sure enough, you saw the whole Karasuno Volleyball Club there. Sighing, you texted Hinata.

You: "Dude, you know this is one of the most important meets of the year, so y did u invite them all? Rn I'm scared as crap and now that I know the whole v-ball club is watching me, I'm even more scared. This is my last chance to make State. Do you WANT me to blow it?! >:("

Hinata: "But y r u scared?"

You: "Because I could mess up and miss my big chance on finally going to State!"

Hinata: "You know we are here to cheer you on, not to freak you out, right?"

You: "Yeah..."

Hinata: "So anyway, what's ur next event?"

You: "50 free"

Hinata: "What heat and lane?"

You: "Heat 7 lane 4"

Hinata: "And you're trying to make a 24.99, right?"

This question caught you by surprise. You didn't think Hinata would remember, even though you would constantly remind him that that's the time you're trying to make every time you would attend a meet and he would watch. Soon enough, another text popped up.

Hinata: "Ur gonna make it this time (y/n)! I know it for sure! :D"

You smiled at the text message and replied back.

You: "Yeah, for sure. :) Gtg the event's gonna start."

(Hinata's POV)

I read (y/n)'s text message and smiled a bit. I know she's going to make it, for sure! I was suddenly interrupted by my thoughts when I heard Kageyama's voice.

"Hinata, how does this 'swim meet' thing work?"

I turned to face him and the others, they all looked clueless. I then started to explain how the meet works and the qualifying times the swimmers need to get in order to move on.

"Wow, Hinata, I didn't know you knew so much about swimming!" said Nishinoya excitedly.

I just blushed a little and looked to the side, "I've just been watching swim meets for a while now so... yeah."

While looking to the side, the scoreboard caught my attention. I then noticed that they were finishing up heat 6 of the girls' 50 free and are about to start heat 7.

"Guys, look!" I shouted excitedly "(y/n)'s about to swim!"

"What lane is she in?" asked Suga.

"4." I said.

Soon enough, the guys started to gather around me as we watched from above in the stands.

(Your POV)

The whistle blew, signaling us to get on the block. Everyone was silent.

"Take your mark..." said the official.

BEEP!

Diving into the water, I tried to do everything perfectly and fast. The streamline, the stroke, the turn I tried to do it all that way, And as soon as the race started, it was over. Finishing hard, I looked over to the scoreboard to see what my time was. My eyes widened in shock.

"No! that can't be right!" I thought.

The scoreboard read:

4 (y/n) (y/l/n) 23.89

Suddenly I heard Coach yell, "YEAH!!!" He said that while fist bumping the air. Then I heard the Karasuno Volleyball Team cheering too. Not only did I get the cut, I BLEW PAST it! Looking back at the team, I saw Hinata make a peace sign at me while smiling. To respond, I fist bumped the air. I couldn't believe it, I actually made it, I actually made State!

(Author's POV)

After getting the first place medal and blue flower, you headed to the locker room. Gathering your things after changing, your headed out. Putting your headphones around your neck, you sort of skipped out the natatorium. Once outside, you were tackled into a bear hug by Hinata.

"YOU MADE IT! YOU MADE IT!" Hinata shouted.

You just laughed and said "Get off me you Boy - Lolita!"

The rest of the team appeared and sweat dropped when they saw you and Hinata.

Jumping up, Hinata started to babble, "You went like, zoom! And then when you got to the wall you were like POW! And then, none of the other girls could catch up to you cuz you were like WOW! And then you went like WHOO! And ended up finishing first and being the champion!"

"Uhhh, what did he just say?" Asahi asked Suga.

Tsukki and Yamaguchi snickered, "Probably something stupid." said Tsukki.

"Nice Tsukki!" said Yamaguchi.

"I think 'zoom' is describing how fast I went, 'pow' is describing how quick and powerful my flip-turn was, 'wow' is describing how far ahead I was, and 'whoo' is describing how strong my finish was. Am I right Hinata?" you asked.

Hinata was bouncing excitedly and his eyes sparkled. He then nodded his head rapidly.

"Wow, someone who actually understands Hinata..." said Kageyama.

"Good job on that race (y/n)!" said Tanaka and Nishinoya.

"Thanks guys." you responded.

"Alright!" said Daichi, "To celebrate (y/n) on getting that State cut, let's all eat out!"

"Oh you guys, you don't ha-" you were cut off.

"YEAH!" they all said. (besides Tsukki cuz he dat way.)

They all started to walk towards a nearby restaurant, while you stood and watched them for a bit. Hinata then suddenly grabbed your hand and pulled you forward.

"C'mon (y/n)! We don't want to get left behind now do we?"

You blushed while he started to run, pulling you forward.

"H-hey! SLOW DOWN HINATA!"
