Traveling Vivian
Part 23
Linlee or what I called It was born during the warmest temperature in July. It was her first birthday and it was going to be mine in a few more months. I watched the sun raise on its highest level as the rays of it scorched my skin. Lady was getting refreshments out onto the table as Daddy put on a swimsuit and life preservers on her body. He placed her into the pool as she floated across it. He asked one of his friends to keep an eye on her while he went out to buy the beers. Lady called out to everyone who was here to refresh themselves with drinks. Honestly it was too hot to even get out of the seat. I watched as Lady passed out mini fans for the guests. She looked back at Linlee and then she threw the fans on the closest table when she saw the cake rolling in. From my view, I noticed the cake rolling in six feet high in the form of a princess castle. I was in awe of the cake. Maybe when it was my birthday, they can make me a big cake just like Linlee’s. I saw people applauding when the bakers managed to put the cake on the table. Then their apprentice baker came in with a mini Princess cake for It to smash her face in. It seemed like the perfect party.
From my point of view, everything was perfect besides the fact I was in my room, locked up tightly. Daddy and Lady made the excuse that I was with a social worker to visit my birth mom in jail. However, I really was locked up in my room. I saw from the distant as Lady glanced at my room’s window. She shook her head and walked back to the catering company. She must have commanded them to bring me food because I saw one of them made a plate with pasta, mashed potatoes and gravy, chicken drummies, and a corn. She took it from them as she went back to the main house. I heard her in the kitchen slamming the tub ware out of the cabinets and then she scraped all the food off the plate and into the tub ware. I was inside my crib this whole time when she opened the door. She placed the food on the table as she took me out of the crib. “Don’t you fucking dare get out of this room. You are not to ruin this party for our princess, okay you wench?” She snapped as she brought me close to her face.
I looked at her and nodded. I was not sure if I could leave the room. They both locked it tightly. She threw me against the plush chairs and then went out of the room again. I eyed her when she left me alone.
I crawled to the table and pulled the lid off the tub. The food was warm and oozing with delicious juices. My mouth watered just the thought of having it and then I realized I was hungry. I haven’t eaten since last night. I immediately bit down onto the corn but it was too hot that my front two teeth burned. I cried a bit but I drank from my old juice box. I slowly took a bite of the Alfredo pasta and it was delicious. It was cheesy and full of peas and sauces with every bite. I was so happy I had food! I had another bite and with every bite, it was really scrumptious. I decided to save the chicken drummies. I do not know when my next meal was especially when there was a party going on.
After my lunch, I crawled onto my toddler bed and watched the excitement from the window. I stood up and saw Daddy holding It. It had on a yellow and white floral dress. She had her blonde hair into curls as Lady placed a tiara on her head. The guests all applauded when they saw her came out of her “princess carriage” that was made up of a white wooden curved ball and two horses led it. I saw people clapping and awing of her. It really looked like her father. She had his hair, his nose, and his facial structure. She only had Lady’s blue almond-shaped eyes.
“Cake time!” Daddy called out when he brought It to the cake center.
I huffed in my seat. “How the heck can she blow that thing? The cake is too big for her!”
Daddy looked up in my window and he must noticed I was looking because he gave me a solemn smile. I pouted. He should have taken me out of here. I wanted to be in the celebration too! I stared at Daddy back but Daddy shook his head and looked away. I wondered why they did such awful things to me. Were they embarrassed that I was a whore’s daughter? Were they ashamed they adopted a girl from a bad history? Or maybe the paparazzi found out about me and my past and used it against them. Or maybe they just want to get rid of me. Either one of those still made me upset. No child deserved to be treated like this.
