I woke up to my alarm going off, I hit the snooze button and rolled out of bed. I washed my face, put on my makeup, fixed my hair and got dressed. I walked downstairs and into the kitchen. Mom had made bacon and handed me a plate as I walked in. I was so tired and I didn't want to go to school, not that I wanted to anyway, but still, it was just one of those days where I wanted to stay home and do nothing.
"Do you have band practice today?" Mom asked.
"Yeah we do." I said.
"Is everything okay?" She asked.
"Yeah, just tired."
I got up and put my plate in the sink. I heard Mitch honk his horn, I yelled bye as I walked out the door and I ran out to his car.
"Running late or something?" He asked as I got in.
"Not really. I'm actually on time for once."
"You just seemed like you were in a hurry."
"No, not in a hurry to get to school, that's for sure."
"You okay?" He asked.
"I don't know. I woke up in a weird mood."
"Thought so, what's up?" He asked.
"I literally have no idea. Like I'm just really wanting this music thing to take off."
"I'm sure it will. Hopefully Austin will have some news on that recording guy."
"I hope so." I say.
We got to school and walked in. I went to my locker and Austin was literally running up to me. He stopped when he got to my locker and had to catch his breath.
"Whoa dude," I said.
"Oh my gosh I've got some news. Where are the boys at?" He asked.
"I don't know. Mitch is probably with Candace and I haven't seen Caleb."
"Well we have to find them before class starts, because I've got big news."
"Well can you just tell me? Class is literally about to start."
"Okay fine. So that recording guy? Well he wants to hear some of our stuff. He wants us to come to Los Angeles."
"Seriously? When?"
"Well as soon as we can. I thought maybe we'd drive down on Saturday."
"Yeah totally. Mitch and I have first period together so I'll tell him."
"Cool. At lunch we can all talk about it."
The bell rang and we went to our classrooms. I walked into mine and sat in my corner desk. Mitch walked in and Lane was behind him. He waved at me when he saw me and I waved back, he looked like he was about to walk over but Kate stopped him, of course."
Mitch came over and sat down in his desk beside me. I couldn't wait to tell him what about the recording guy.
"Oh my gosh I have amazing news." I said.
"What is it?" He asked.
"The recording guy contacted Austin and he wants us to come play some of our stuff for him."
"For real? Dude, that's awesome! When?"
"Austin was thinking about this Saturday."
Mitch's face fell. He didn't look as excited. He looked, disappointed really.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"Yeah, it's just that I don't know if this Saturday will work. I have plans."
