"Is everything in the trunk?" I asked.
"Yeah, I just loaded the last of it!" Caleb yelled to me.
Today we were heading off to LA. We had signed a record deal almost a month ago and now we were officially moving to LA to start our careers. Our parents had wanted us to at least graduate before we moved and we were also able to find an apartment that wasn't too far from the studio. To say I was excited was an understatement.
We had just finished packing up the car and a little trailer that we were taking with us. The boys were already in the car and I turned to my parents and sisters. I was leaving them for who knew how long. It was the first time that I had ever done this, I was so scared, but yet, I was so excited.
"Don't get too crazy, young lady." Mom said.
She was crying, but still trying to joke, even though I knew she meant it. I smiled through my tears and hugged her.
"Don't worry, Mom. The boys will take care of me."
"I know," She said. "But I'll still worry."
"I'll call as much as I can and come visit. I love you." I said.
"I love you, too." She said and hugged me one last time.
I moved to Dad who hugged me and smiled at me.
"Take care of yourself." He said.
"I will, Dad." I said.
He kissed my cheek, as I pulled away. I then moved onto my sisters and hugged them just as hard. We may not have always gotten along, but I still loved them like crazy. I turned to go and then looked back one last time, as I heard Dad call my name.
"You'll always have a home here." He said.
"I know. I love you guys."
"And we love you." Mom said.
I waved one last time and walked to the car. I got into the backseat, beside Mitch. He put his arm around me and Iooked out the window as we drove off.
"You gonna be okay?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'll be fine." I said.
He kissed me on the cheek and I just watched as my childhood home disappeared from view. My new adventure had finally begun.
