//So I just really love this gif and I had to put in here bc I just love it\\
Two days had passed since Lane and I had broken up. I hadn't told any of the boys yet. I just hadn't had a chance to tell them, and I wanted to tell Mitch when we were alone. I knew that he would think it was his fault, but it wasn't. I mean, in a way it was, but it probably would've happened eventually.
Today we had band practice. We had our first gig in over 6 months on Saturday, but it wasn't just any gig. The recording studio friend of Austin's dad was coming to listen to us, and he wasn't coming alone. He was bringing some of his recording friends with him. We were super excited, but also nervous. At least I was, but I was always like that.
"I can't believe that a real life talent agent is coming here, to see us!" Austin said.
"Neither can I." I said. "I'm so scared but excited."
"Yeah, it's crazy to think that our dream might actually come true." Caleb said.
Once we stopped talking, we started practicing. We played through about five songs, before we called it a night. We all had tons of homework since finals were coming up soon. The boys all left and I stayed out in the garage to clean up. The door to the garage opened and Dad walked out. He sat down on one of the stools.
"Ready for Saturday?" He asked.
"I hope so. I'm so nervous."
"You'll be fine. Just play like normal and you'll be fine."
I walked over and sat beside him on the other stool. We hadn't really spent much time together lately. He was busy with work and I was just busy with life.
"You doing okay? I know you and Lane broke up."
"Yeah I'm good. It was kind of a mutual thing."
"Well, that makes it easier I guess." He said. "I personally think that you and Mitch would be a better match."
I looked up at him. He had never said that before. Why was everyone telling me this now?
"Really? How long have you thought this?" I asked.
"A while now. You two get a long so well, and when you do argue it's like you're a married couple. I always figured that you two would end up together, guess I was wrong."
He stood up and walked back inside. I sat there and just thought about what he had said. I knew what I had to do, so I stood up and walked down the road and around the corner to Mitch's house. I walked up on the porch and knocked on the door. Mitch opened it, he looked surprised to see me, which I figured he would be since I hadn't called or anything.
"What are you doing here?" He asked.
"I came to talk to you." I said.
"Oh okay."
He walked out on the porch, closing the door behind him. He leaned on the railing of the stairs, waiting for me to talk.
"Lane and I broke up."
"Really?" He said.
"Yeah, we really did."
"Why?"
"Dating him wasn't what I thought it would be. I thought it would be great. I would finally have the boyfriend that I've always wanted. But it wasn't what I thought it would be."
"It wasn't because of me, was it?" He asked.
Great, he had asked exactly what I didn't want him to ask. I honestly didn't know how to respond to him now. Because yes, it was about him, but if I told him that then he would just be upset with himself. So I just tried to avoid the question.
