~Donovan~

It's almost 3:00 in the morning and I haven't slept since yesterday. Ugh, why did I do that? Why did I kiss her? I most likely complicated the rest of this and ruined my chances of ever getting back to the place we were before.

Ever since I came back to Jersey, I've been staying at Tyler's place. I tossed and turned in the bed for the thousandth time before calling Ty.

"What the hell do you want, Donovan?" he answered.

"Well, someone isn't a morning person."

"Donovan O'Keefe, it is 3:00 in the morning and I was just in the middle of sleeping next to my soon-to-be wife. So again, what the hell do you want?"

"I can't sleep, Ty."

"Is it because you almost did the dirty with Mill?"

"Who-"

"Ashley tells me everything. That is why I love her." I heard another small 'I love you too' in the background. That's one of the biggest things I've missed hearing from Milly.

"Yeah, okay. It's Milly. I can't believe I did that."

"From what Mill told Ash and what from Ash told me, and trust me when I say that she never forgets any details, Mill did some things too."

"I-"

"Donovan, can you drink some warm milk and cuddle up with your teddy bear so I can sleep?"

"Yeah, sorry man." Almost instantly, he hung up. There I was. Lying in bed with my thoughts.

I decided to go for a walk after the tenth minute I counted in my head passed. I got up out of bed and looked in my multiple suitcases, practically digging through all of my clothes, trying to find my only jacket from the past that I didn't give to Milly. Too bad it wasn't there. I tried to think of the last place I had it on and mentally punched myself.

"Great..." I mumbled to myself.

I gathered the courage to pick up my phone and call her. I looked at the picture I set for her number for a while before I pressed the button.

She picked up on the second ring. "Hello?"

"Hey."

"Couldn't sleep?"

"Well, a few times I blinked really slowly. Does that count?"

I heard her laugh over the speaker. "My night's been the same."

It was most likely another terrible idea, but I asked anyways. "Do you mind if I came over again?"

"Thank god. I thought I would have to ask you."

I smiled at the thought of her thinking about me. "I'll be over in ten."

We exchanged goodbyes and I left on my way to Milly's apartment. The radio played nothing but country music that I hated, but it was too early for any of mine so I kept it on.

As I tried to keep myself from slamming my head on the steering wheel, I finally reached Mill's place.

As I got into the elevator, I held the door open for a woman. I stared straight ahead without looking at her, focusing only on my destination.

"Thank you, Donovan." she said in a familiar voice. I glanced at her as she said my name and did a double-take. The woman I couldn't stand. The only person in the world that I could genuinely say that I despise. My mother.

"I am in a good mood right now and I don't need you ruining it," I grumbled. It may seem harsh, but I feel like I had good reason.

The elevator doors closed. "Well that's no way to talk to the person that gave you life."
