"I'm fat," I complained.
"You're pregnant, Mill," Ash repeated, trying her hardest to zip up the 3rd bridesmaid dress I tried on today.
"I'm fat, my feet hurt, and this dress isn't going to zip, so quit it."
She rolled her eyes. "Fine, diva. Help me find another one that can fit over the demon-boy in your belly."
"I'm not a diva. And we don't know the baby's pronouns yet. We don't know if the heavy little shit that I love identifies as anything else."
"Stay off of Tumblr."
She walked (I waddled) to the other rack of lavender maternity dresses.
"This one looks cute," she muttered to herself, holding up a pale purple dress in front of my face. It was more of a gown than a dress, though. It was sleeveless and the hem was higher in the front and lower in the back and it looked like purple waves. "I think I saw one over there in Emily's size. C'mon."
I groaned. "I wanna see my puppy."
"I thought you didn't like Lacey."
"It's either the hormones. Or a change of heart."
She looked me up and down. "It's definitely the hormones."

"I'm fat."
"You're glowing," he replies.
"Nah, man. She's fat," my sister said, watching Maegan jump around the room (thanks to the ice cream her father gave her).
"Thank you," I told her.
Michael had his sleeping son curled up in his arms. "Mrs. Ryder, I think that you're completely wrong. She's glowing."
"If my sister says she's fat, then she's fat. No other options."
Donovan rolled his eyes and pulled me on the couch next to him, poking my tummy gently. "You better treat your mother like goddamn queen, or else."
"Swear jar," Maegan sang.
"We don't own swear jars, Mae. We are adults," I informed her, taking another sip from my juice box.
"So have you guys started a nursery yet?" Maddy asked.
"Um, well... We're still trying to get over the fact that that used to be Ashley and Tyler's room," Donovan shuddered. "And all of the things they did in it."
"Oh. Oh. That's nasty."
"Y'know what else is nasty? I pee a little when I sneeze," I grumbled. "And it's all his fault."
Don hugged me with a smile. "Love you too."
"Auntie Milly, do I get to hold him when he's out of your belly?" Maegan asked me, putting her little hands on my bump.
