I was still gazing at the door when the bell rang. Where had he gone? Oh, well. I packed my bag and walked out the door, seeing Donovan down the hall. I walked over to him with a smile that wasn't returned.
"What's the matter?" I asked. He tried to walk past me, but I blocked him. "What happened?" I asked again.
"Can I just have some space, please?!" he exploded. I was shocked. Seeing my expression, his face softened. "I'm sorry. It's something with my dad again. Right when I thought he understood, he goes and does this." He ran his fingers through his already messy hair and he looked like he wanted beat the living shit out of everything.
"Hey, Don." I turned his face so he'd look into my eyes. His cheeks were tear-stained. He was so upset. "Calm down. Tell me what happened."
He sighed and began explaining.

I jogged to catch up with Milly. When I finally reached her she was breathless and greeting her friends. Suddenly, Ashley and Emily were staring at me.
"Hey, Donovan." they said in unison. I honestly was petrified that her friends didn't like me. Chicks before dicks seems like a sacred rule to her. I don't mind, though.
"Hey, Ashley and Emily." I said hoping to get to know them better, but my phone chimed right when I finished speaking. I pulled it out of my pocket.
Tyler :p: yo coach wants to talk to u
"Ugh," I said. What could Coach want with me? "I'm sorry. I gotta go." I kissed Milly goodbye. "Bye, babe." she just smiled and waved goodbye. She was literally the most perfect person in the world.
I sped off to the coaches office, anxious to hear what he wanted. When I got to the door I hesitated to open it, but nobody wants Coach Henry to be pissed at them so I opened it anyways. Coach looked up from his paperwork and greeted me with a toothy smile. What the hell?
"O'Keefe! Sit down," I sat in a faded and dusty chair in front of his desk. Immediately, he picked something up from out of his desk drawer and threw it into my lap. I examined it quickly and saw that it was a lacrosse jersey with my name on it. "Welcome back to the team, son!" he said excitedly.
I was extremely confused. "Your father called and said you still wanted to be on the team," he explained.
Did I just hear what I thought I heard? My dad did not do this. "Are you serious?" I asked. I was not ready to believe that my father would do this.
"Er, you don't sound very excited, but yes I am serious." he said.
I ran my hand through my hair, messing it up. I can't believe he would do this. After everything, he still thought sports were everything. I can't fucking deal with this. I should've seen this coming. Things were going great with Mill, my dad, Madison and even Michael. The shit was bound to hit the fan. I left the jersey on the chair and walked out.
"O'Keefe!" Coach Henry called after me. I didn't bother to acknowledge him. I walked to an empty hallway and sat down with my back to the wall. I couldn't help but allow the tears, threatening to release, fall down my face. After the accident and our fight, he still wanted things his way. The bell rang and I wiped my face to go to my second period. I turned a corner and saw Milly. Great.

He told me everything. From the jersey throwing to the crying in a vacant hallway.
