It's still you that I look for every time with someone else. It doesn't feel the same when I'm laying down with someone and their skin press against mine and there's nothing between us but silence and the dark room. The breath that I used to listen to every night is not the same anymore, I still look for you.
I tried to fall in love with someone else but the butterflies that you gave me when we were together wasn't there. The feeling was empty. There was nothing but me looking into another pair of eyes and they aren't your ones.
Walking though a crowd of people filling their lungs the same way that you did when we were together but all I could do is to look for your specific one. I remember how you smelled, the way you blew out the cloud of smoke freely into the air, and none of them are the same as you.
It's still you after all those years that we've been apart, even after you said that I could find someone better who would take care of me better than you did, you promised me that I will find someone but there aren't anyone on those earth could ever replace you. I just don't see how I could just replace someone like you in my life that easily.
How you just walked out of my life that easily.
But no matter what the future holds for us, it's still you that I will love endlessly.
Lauren placed the letter back down on the table, staring at it blankly as the younger girl takes a seat in front of her.
"Lauren?" Camila asked, as she notices that the older one's mind is not present at that moment.
"I... Umm..." Lauren started stuttering, "please excuse me." She then stormed out of the café and quickly took her box of cigarettes out of her packet and put the stick in between her teeth before lighting it.
Lauren inhales the toxic chemicals and let it stay in her lungs for a while before exhaling it in a relieved way.
"Lauren, what are you doing?" Normani asked as she grabs hold of Lauren's shoulder and turns the girl around to face her. "Camila is now in the same place as you and all you can think of doing right now is to kill your damn lungs?" Normani pressed on angrily.
"I can't Mani, I can't..." Lauren replied, shaking her head and running her finger quickly through her hair.
"What do you mean you can't? The girl of your dreams is back and the least that you could do right now is ignore her and play death with yourself." Normani started tugging on Lauren's arm to drag her back in the café.
"No Mani, I really can't. No." Lauren lets out the last smoke before putting out the cigarette and entering the café once again.
"Lauren sit your ass down." Dinah commanded once she finally saw Lauren walk in the café again with Normani.
Lauren lets out a big sigh and takes a seat back on her spot, in front of Camila.
"I'm..." They both started in a unison.
"You go first." Camila said.
"I'm sorry about that..." Lauren trailed off, "I just needed some fresh air." She added.
"That air wasn't as fresh." Camila rolled her eyes.
"I know." Lauren replied bluntly.
"It's not good for you and you know that."
"I know."
"Then why are you still doing it?"
"Why are you back?" Lauren spat.
Camila didn't say anything in return and just sighed heavily.
"I..." Camila started.
"What Camila? Are you gonna say your reason this time or are you just gonna leave just like before?" Lauren raised her voice.
A single tear escaped from Camila's eye and she quickly wipes it with the back of her hand before hurriedly walking out of the café.
"Great job Jauregui, we had to literally force her to come here and now you fucked it all up by being a bitch." Dinah stood up from her seat.
"Where are you going?" Normani asked.
"Where do you think I'm going?" Dinah asked sarcastically and ran after Camila.
"Lauren..." Normani sighed.
"Just leave." Lauren rolled her eyes.
Normani didn't say anything and gathered her things before she left the premises.
Once Lauren was alone, her fists started to clench and her breathing started to get heavy as her anger builds up.
The brunette runs her fingers through her hair and stormed out of the café quickly. As she gets out of the place, she takes out another cigarette and lights it up immediately.
"You're a fucking idiot, Lauren. You always fuck everything up." She mumbled to herself as she picks up her pace to walk back faster to her apartment. "She was there already, why do you always fuck it up?" She asked herself, "you're such a..." She started before she gets interrupted by the younger girl in front of her doorstep.
"Camz?" Lauren asked confused, finishing her cigarette before stepping on it on the ground.
"Lau... Lauren?" Camila started shakily.
Lauren didn't say anything and just got up closer to the younger girl and wrapped her arms around her. Camila broke down crying in Lauren's arms.
"Oh baby..." Lauren stroked Camila's hair comfortingly, "I'm so sorry, please don't cry."
"You know how I feel Lauren, you read it all in that letter." Camila cried on Lauren's chest, "why Lauren? Why?" She started hitting Lauren's chest with her fists.
Lauren didn't say anything, instead she just tightens her grip around Camila, she doesn't want to lose Camila once again and Lauren knows it.
"You're so unfair Lauren." Camila mumbled through her tears on Lauren's chest.
Tears are now falling freely from Lauren's eyes, her emotions got over her, she didn't stop them, she knew she needed to get them out, let the emotions that she's been holding and building up on out of her system.
"Camz, listen to me." Lauren lifted Camila's head off her chest in order for the younger girl to look into Lauren's eyes.
Lauren wiped the tears off Camila's cheeks with the pad of her thumb, "you. It's only you that I want and you know that, I didn't mean to hurt you baby, I'm sorry. I just didn't know what to do, I'm just scared that I might lose you again if I let you in again. I'm so sorry baby, please don't cry." Lauren spoke through her shaky voice.
"I'll never go away, Lauren. I'll never leave you like that ever again. I'm sorry if I made you feel like that all those years. I'm sorry." Camila started crying once again, "I love you Lauren."
"I'll always love you Camz..." Lauren whispered.
