Hold On

Could you say that someone had a really hard and good fight after really long and painful years of battling against a life threatening disease? Will letting that person go to have a long and peaceful rest be easier than seeing them suffer even more? What if letting that person go means they don't get to experience and see their one and only child grow up to be the man that they have wanted him to be, would you still let them go?

Lauren could say that she and her love, Camila have had a long and tough fight against her battle with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia after being diagnosed six years ago. They were just living their lives as a happy and teenagers in love when the news broke. Devastated and not knowing what to do, Lauren promised to be there for Camila no matter what happens and through it all, Camila have been fighting and standing strong. She has had the strength and the courage to go through it all and that is all because of Lauren.The love and the support that Lauren has been giving Camila is what made the younger girl to keep going.

The love that started since they were just fifteen and sixteen, they conquered it all, from the stereotypical comments, the hate, the criticisms, the battle for their relationship with their parents, they have gotten through it all. They proved that without one another and without all of the battles that was thrown at their way, Camila and Lauren wouldn't be as strong as they are right now. They were happy and soon accepted by both sides of the family and friends, they were in a place where they could say that they would want to spend the rest of their lives in each other's arms. They made each other feels safe, the warmth of their love made them feel all sorts of emotions that made their journey worth it, they could say that being in each other's arms, that's what they called home. But that happiness and the strength of their relationship was soon put into a test once again, when at eighteen years of age, Camila was diagnosed with Leukaemia.

Chemotherapy, constant medicine intake, Camila has had a lot of ups and downs. Tantrums were thrown here and there, arguments with Lauren that nearly ended their relationship but nothing could get in their way and about two years into Camila's journey into getting better and fighting against the cancer, Lauren wanted to settle down. The older girl insisted to propose and marry the girl that she has loved for so long and after the work with the chemotherapy and the medicines, the chances of Camila fighting the cancer have improved and soon the cancer was gone. Lauren asked the girl of her dreams the question on the day they celebrated about Camila's success. Surely Camila said yes to the question and now they are living a happy and healthy life with their only son, Xander.

The little guy is the result of combining both Camila and Lauren's genes together with a little help with their parents and medical team. Xander has chocolate orbs, full pink lips, dark curly locks, rosey-pale skin and a happy, energetic personality. The little guy, who could be a handful most of the time, was carried by Camila throughout the interesting nine months. The cravings did get out of control and the swollen feet and aching back did get in her nerves and despite the fact that her doctors were against the idea of her carrying their child, Camila proved the impossible could be possible. Now they have a result of the two of them running around the house crazy and getting a side out of Lauren that no one has ever seen before.

A happy ever after right? Just like in the movies where everyone gets the happy ending that they want and everything was just perfect.

Well not if you're in Camila and Lauren's shoes. Three wonderful and happy years after having Xander, Camila's cancer came back and is in its worst. This time the cancer have managed to spread to the rest of her organs, her liver, her stomach. The pain was unbearable and Camila just doesn't want to fight against it any longer, she wanted it all to end. She has had enough of the chemotherapy, the medicines and having to see the people that she cares about worry about her. For Camila the game was over.
