Jess and North

(Max's POV)

I lied to Jacob and North. I lied about calling Adam. Jacob and North will find out who I called soon enough.

(Jacob's POV)

Max has been being secretive lately. Always getting calls and always going out of the room when his phone rings. Whenever I ask who it was he tried to avoid the question, or change the subject. As I was waiting for Jess and North to talk a bit more Max got another call, he left the room, 10 minutes later he came back. "Who was that?" I asked.
"N-nobody." Max replied quickly. I rolled my eyes and Max saw. "Hey! Don't roll your eyes at me! Who I call is my business!" Max yelled.
"S-sorry" I replied. I got up and went back to Jess and North. As I walked in I saw Jess and North hugging. "I guess thinks went well?" I asked somewhat smiling.
"What went well?" North asked. I immediately stopped smiling and Jess said, "oh it's nothing, Jacob can I speak with you outside for a bit?" I nodded and we went outside.
"I thought you were going to adopt her!?" I said.
"I am but I want it to be a surprise when she is able to leave." Jess replied. I began to get all giddy and excited for North. "Please do not tell her" Jess pleaded. I nodded and pretended to zip my lips. Jess laughed and hugged me. After we hugged I went over to Max and we left.

(Timeskip to home)
(Jacob's POV)

We got home and immediately Max got a phone call. He excused himself from the room so I waited a little bit before following. I heard Max talking from his room so I hid outside his room to eavesdrop.

(Max's POV)
(U= unknown... For now)

M: "Are you sure I can get an extra?"

U: "Yes as long as you pay for it."

M: "Thank you and do not call my house phone I don't want my kid to find out."

U: "No problem we will always call this phone."

M: "Sweet! thank you."

I hung up my phone. "So, what do you not want me to find out?" Jacob said standing at my doorway. I jumped because Jacob startled me. "What do you not want me knowing?" Jacob asked again.
"Nothing! And stop trying to butt into my personal business!" I yelled.
"Ugh, fine." Jacob said with sass. I began to get furious and went off on him. "Ok look! I am trying to stay calm right now but I can't! Give me your phone you can have it back later!" I yelled.
"W-what! Why?!" Jacob asked.
"Just give me your phone!" I yelled.
"Ok here!" Jacob said handing me his phone. After he handed me his phone he went to his room and shut and locked his door. I sighed going back to my room and I sat on my bed. I thought to myself, I hate doing that... I don't ever want to do that ever again.
