Finally... a Friend

(Jacob's POV)

I looked at the kid that walked up to me, he seemed to be around my age a bit taller than I am or the same height. He had brown curly hair and was a bit skinny but not starving skinny.
"Hey" the kid said.
"H-hi... U-um are you talking to me?" I asked.
"Yeah, my name is Chris what's yours?" said the kid.
"J-Jacob" I responded not knowing what was going on because the only time anyone talked to me was either right before, during, or after I was getting beaten up, and the only thing that would be said was get up and stop being a pussy.
Chris eventually sat down with me at the lunch table and asked, "So Jacob, why are you sitting all alone?"
"Nobody likes me here not even the people that work here." I replied feeling a little depressed.
"Well why is that?" Chris asked.
"I've been beaten up more times than I can remember and nobody would help me." I said but almost in an instant I became very angry towards him and asked, "Did those fucking workers put you up to this!? To make me feel comfortable around you and then when my guard is down you beat me up for their amusement!"

(Chris's POV)

I thought to myself "Wow Jacob must have gone through hell being here and he thinks I'm here to abuse him and hurt him, but I'm really curious because he is probably the only one here around our age and I just got here recently so I have no friends either."
Jacob soon calmed down and then apologized for the outburst and I accepted his apology and then asked him, "How long have you been here Jacob?"
"14 years... 14 miserable years" he replied
I was shocked to find out that he has been here for 14 years so I asked him how he got here. He seemed reluctant to reply but he soon said, "My parents just left me here when I was almost 3, what about you?"
"My parents were both killed in an accident not too long ago and none of my other relatives wanted me to live with them so here I am."

(Jacob's POV)

I sincerely felt sorry for Chris because not only were his parents killed in a car crash, but he is also stuck in this hell hole. I noticed that Chris was looking at the hand mark on my face the worker gave me for resisting him, so I tried to hide it when he said, "I saw what happened to you while I was given a tour of this place. I also saw that you were watching videos from Skydoesminecraft, am I right?"
"Y-yeah" I responded a little embarrassed.
As soon as I said that he went on and on about how he loved Skydoesminecraft and everyone at the offices and I told him that I liked Mithzan the most out of all of them. We talked all during lunch and that is when I felt a sense of security and happiness when I am with him... I guess this is what having a friend feels like.
...But that feeling didn't last long when...
