First day in Washington

(Max's POV)

I began to notice that Jacob was excited to go to Washington mainly because he could not keep still as the taxi took us to the airport. "Did you have any friends at the orphanage?" I asked him.
"Only one, his name is Chris." Jacob replied. I could tell that he had something else he really wanted to say but I think he may have been a little bit embarrassed about it or he didn't want the taxi driver to hear.

(Jacob's POV)

Should I tell Max about how cruel everyone at the orphanage was to me? I don't really want to talk to him about it right now I'll just wait until the time is right, but right now I just want to enjoy my time with Max.

"Was there anything else you wanted to say?" Max asked.
"Huh? Oh... Ummm no. Nothing at all." I replied quietly, and also dying on the inside because I wanted him to know what I had endured there before he adopted me.

(Timeskip to after landing)
(Max's POV)

We finally landed in Washington and we got in my car. As we were driving I looked over at Jacob to find him fast asleep, I smiled and thought to myself, "he is my responsibility now, and nothing bad will happen to him."
After some time of driving we finally arrived home. It was pretty late but as soon as I pulled up Ross came out to help unpack. "Is that Jacob?" Ross said pointing at him in the passenger seat.
"Yes that's him" I replied
"Let me wake hi-" Ross was saying when I cut him off, "no, let me do it, just get my bags and get the gues- I mean his room ready for him. He is probably exhausted from the flight." Ross nodded then left, I opened the passenger door and shook Jacob gently. He woke up in shock saying, "P-please no more!"
"Woah-woah-woah it's alright Jacob your fine. We're home now" I said trying to comfort him.
"Oh I'm sorry about that." Jacob said looking towards the house to see Ross taking my bags in.
"D-do you live with anyone else?"
Jacob asked almost sounding scared.
"Yes I do, I live with my friends Ross and Tim." I replied.

*FYI at first this said Ross only but I recently learned that they also live with Tim*

(Jacob's POV)

I began to worry because I didn't know how Max actually was if he was abusive or sincere. The same goes for this Ross and Tim people he lives with. Max began to give me a tour around his home, or should I say my new home. After the tour I took a shower and changed into some pajamas that Max lent me because I didn't have any clothes since they were orphanage property, but they let me keep the ones I had on when I got adopted. I woke up the next morning and went into the kitchen to find Ross watching anime and eating cereal. I tried to turn around and go back to my room when Ross saw me and said, "hey Jacob, did you sleep well?"
I turned around to be nice and said, "yeah I did, what can I have for breakfast?"
Ross got up and lead me to the pantry and showed me the cereal that they had. I ended up getting some Cheerios because they were plain and simple and I liked them. As I was eating I saw Max come in and he sat right next to me. I looked at him and he smiled.
"Do you know how happy I am that I got to adopt you." Max said
"How happy?" I asked
"Very happy." He replied
"I guess you can say that he is a... Glad Max?" Ross said and I laughed quietly as Max got up from his seat and began to count down. Ross ran and then Max chased him yelling. I began to get scared because it reminded me of the orphanage's abuse towards me, so I went into a corner and curled up into a ball trying not to cry.

(Max's POV)

After I chased Ross down the hallway I went back to the kitchen to find that Jacob was gone. I looked around and saw him curled into a ball. I knelt down next to him and asked, "what's wrong?"
"No-nothing just stay away from me please!" Jacob yelled.
"Hey Jacob, it's alright, you can tell me what's bothering you." I reassured him.
"O-ok then, are you really sure?" He asked. I nodded back to him. "Well, I was beaten and abused at the orphanage on a daily basis. Nobody would help me not even the workers and somethings they would beat me." Jacob said as he was starting to cry.
"Oh my gosh!" I said astounded. "don't worry you will never have to go through that again I promise," I said hugging Jacob to calm him down, "you know what, I'm going to take you to my work, that will make you feel better."
