"You all took forever to get here!"
Pippin exclaimed glaring at them in mock anger.

"Did you want us to die?"
Frodo asked teasingly.

"No, but I missed all of you."

The rest of the Fellowship laughed.

Legolas smiled as he looked at his friends. None of them looked the way they did when he last saw them.

They were all young again and had no injuries.

They had spent the morning talking and enjoying one another's company.

They were all there, Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, and Boromir.

Legolas had thought they would never see each other again.

Yet here they were, but in the back of his mind, he knew that it would not last forever.

He felt a hand on his shoulder.
"It's time to go Legolas. You cannot stay."

Legolas looked up at his mother and nodded.

He knew that he couldn't fight it.

The rest of the Fellowship stood to their feet.

They all stood together; none of them could hide their grief.

"Goodbye Legolas."
Pippin said sadly.

Legolas smiled at the hobbit.
"Goodbye Pippin."

He went over to each of his friends, saying goodbye for the last time.

Aragorn smiled at him.
"Farewell Legolas."

Legolas couldn't stop the tears from falling.

His mother was waiting for him.

They would go to the Halls of Mandos, and then to wherever the other fallen elves had gone.

Legolas looked back at his friends one last time.

All had tears in their eyes, they stood side by side in a line.

"I know that you will miss them."
His mother said softly.
"But they cannot follow you, and you cannot stay."
"Will I ever see them again?"
Legolas asked.

His mother smiled.
"I think you know the answer to that Legolas."
