Calum's POV
"You've been sitting alone for a week, what happened?" Luke asks me one day at lunch.
"What?"
"Why isn't Michael sitting with you?"
"Oh, um, well we kind of had an argument the, um, other day," I stammer out.
"About what?"
"I rather not talk about it." Luke just nods and takes a seat next to me. We sit in silence for a while before Luke speaks up. "Well, since you and Michael aren't really talking much, maybe you would, um, like hang out sometime? I've always thought you were like really cool and I hope we could be close friends?"
"Oh, um, y-yeah. That'd be cool. Heh," I reply, maybe a little too enthusiasticly.--
Later that week, Saturday to be exact, Luke and I took a trip to the mall. We held normal conversations as one does, but one was a little more interesting.
"So, are you going to the Spring Formal?" Luke randomly asked while we were shopping in a record shop.
"I totally forgot that was even coming up! Um, probably not though. I don't know who I would even go with."
"You don't have a crush on anyone that you would want to ask?"
"He's taken," I mumble under my breath. Yet, Luke caught it.
"Wait, what?"
"I said 'she's taken'. So yeah. There's no point in asking them."
" You never know." With that, Luke walked over to a different section, leaving me with his words ringing in mt head. You never know.--
"How was the date, Aussie?" Tirza asks as soon as she sees me at school.
"It wasn't a date, T. Luke has a girlfriend. No chance there, hun."
"Ugh, you never know."
"That's what Luke said," I mumble, confused. Before Tirza can respond, I walk away left with my thoughts. They're right. I don't know if there's a chance that something may happen with Luke.
Distracted with my thoughts, I bump into someone. "Please don't hurt me!" the person yelled as I profusely apologized. I realize that the person who I bumped into, and fell at the same time, was in fact Ashton Irwin. Then I register what he just said.
"I'm not going to hurt," I say reaching my hand out. He hesitantly grabs my hand and I pull him up. "You okay?" I feel a little bad about scaring him.
"I- I think so. Um, thanks I guess. You're Calum, right?"
"That's right and you're Ashton."
"Yeah, but that wasn't really a question, I guess," he nervously says with a small laugh. It was actually kind of cute. I laugh along with him and we just keep talking. People stare at us as we walk down the hallway, but I couldn't seem to careless. I think Ashton and I could actually be friends, a thought that has never crossed my mind before.A/N THIS IS SO SHORT AND HAS TAKEN SO LONG I'M SORRY RIP. Anyways, at least there is an update now.
*SELF PROMO LEAVE ME ALONE*
If you don't follow me, you may not know that I have fully completed story up. It's not a fanfic (mostly because no names are mentioned), but I would love if some of you would check it out? I'm actually really proud of it so
