The first half of school flies by and soon it's lunch. Usually, Michael and Calum would eat lunch together in the cafeteria, but today Michael made plans with some girl who, let's be honest, is probably a quick hook up for the boy. So now Calum is stuck in this stupid cafeteria eating lunch on his own.

"Hey, Calum. Is anyone sitting here?" That voice. Calum knows immediately exactly who it belongs to.  That voice is a gift from heaven. That voice belongs to none other than Luke Hemmings.

"Uhm, no. No one is sitting here," Calum states. Worry and excitement fill the boy at the thought of eating lunch with his crush. For a moment, it feels as though he forgot how to breath so he takes a second to remind himself. Inhale then exhale.

"So, about this morning," Luke beings. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. "If you want, we can just forget about it." Another example on how Luke is absolutely perfect. He is so considerate. He is so handsome. Perfect hair, perfect lips that Calum can't stop imagining how they would feel against his. "Calum? You there, mate?" Mate?  Was he just friendzoned? Calum begins to internally freak out. No one wants to be friendzoned by their crush. Especially when it's a risk to talk to them out of fear of the wrath of you best friend.

"Uh, yeah. That'd be great," Calum says, faking a smile.  Like Luke would ever have any feelings for him. He's probably straight. Everyone in this school is. Besides Ashton and Calum, that is. Calum can't help but to stare at him. God, he is perfect. From his bright and joyful blue eyes to his cute nose down to his lips. His lips look so soft and Calum yearns to feel them against his.

"So, you're friends with Michael, eh?" Maybe that's why he doesn't have feelings for the Kiwi boy. Or he's straight.

"Yeah, have been for as long as I can remember. "

"Then how come you don't hate me?" He asks, genuinely curious. How could anyone possibly hate him?

"No reason to, I guess. I don't even know why Michael hates you or why you hate him for that matter, " Calum replies honestly.

"Long story.  I, uh, don't want to bore you with the details." If Calum was being completely honest, nothing that could come out of the boy's mouth would ever bore him.

"Oh, it's fine. Wasn't that interested, really." Calum was lying through his teeth.  He wanted to know more than anything. He thinks of asking Michael later. He also thinks if he actually wants to know the answer.

Luke and Calum spent the rest of lunch talking about music. Apparently he plays guitar and  he sings. Could he be any more perfect? Soon enough school had ended. Michael and Calhm were walking home in silence. This is the perfect time for Calum to ask Michael about the whole Luke situation.

   "Hey Michael? " Calum begins.

   " Yeah?" Michael replies.

"I was wondering, why do you and Luke Hemmings hate each other?" Cal questions him.

He just sighs and says, "I rather not talk about it now. Maybe some other time." He seems upset.

   "Are you alright?"

   "No. You know that girl,Becca?"

"The girl you ate lunch with today?'

"Yeah, that's her well she..." He starts going on about how she apparently already had a boyfriend and she was only using Micheal.  Calun nods occasionally and speaks his opinion when appropriate, but he just couldn't focus. He really wanted to know what created this hatred between his best friend and the boy he is in love with. Plus, a new question arose inside of him.  Why didn't either of these two boys want to talk about it?
