Chapter 27:     Nightmare

Ella’s POV

***

I was lying on a cold grey stone floor, alone in a dark boxed emptiness. I fluttered my eyes trying to adjust to my surroundings. Darkness filled most of the room. Just a single strand of light had fought its way into the room by a small crack, which seemed to be on a one-way door. Silence filled the room making it impossible to feel welcome. The air was thick, and I had the doubt that I felt claustrophobic.

I tried to sit myself up but my body felt heavy and my arms were weak. With the strength I had I pushed myself into a corner and leant my back against the wall. I felt as if all my energy had been drained from me; with my breathing that sounded more like panting as if I had been running for miles.

I leant my head back and rested my eyes closed. Calming myself down I focused on slowing down the fast beat of my heart while my head was spinning in circles. I would collapse but I was already on the floor. Something felt wrong but I couldn’t figure out what it was.

I took in a deep breath and opened up my eyes. There was still darkness but it wasn’t completely black. Almost lighter than before. The light from the crack forcing as much light into the room as possible. Trying so hard to break down the door to stop the gloomy loneliness of the room and be filled with happiness. I saw the dust in the air as the light shone through, desperately making an effort to make the room brighter. But failing because the room seemed to be more powerful.

Using my strength that I had left, I stood up and stumbled my way over to the door. As I neared the light became brighter and I had to squint my eyes. As I finally reached the crack I saw a white hallway with a single light bulb dangling from the ceiling. Just as I was unable to see no more, I noticed a brown door and a hand holding it open. Staring at the door, the person stepped out. He was big and built up with muscle. I was unable to see his face but he wore a dark navy, almost black hoodie with dark ripped jeans and dried blood stains. It was him. Him again?!

I gasped. Right away my hand raced to my mouth as the mans head shot up in my direction. His eyes bored into mine. I stood frozen and unable to move, my heart raced and my head was screaming at me to walk away but I couldn’t it was as if I was stuck in my place. The man walked closer, I tried all I could but it was like my body was on shutdown. Nothing was working except my senses.

The man was now on the other side of the door. His warm angry breath hit my face as it passed through the gap. The door quickly unlocked and slammed right into me causing me to fall to the ground. The man stood in the doorway. A shadowing figure stood in front of me, hands balled into tight fists. I slowly backed away trying to increase the space between us but every time I felt like I was moving further away the man still looked just as close as the time before as if I hadn’t moved at all.

“What do you want from me?” I managed to utter the words from my mouth.

“Get up!” the man roared. His deep voice echoing off the stone walls and hitting my ears as if he had made physical contact with them.

I stumbled to my feet and took a few steps back. Plucking up some courage I happened to find inside of me that was trying to hide I asked again. “What do you want from me?” This time my voice came out clear and stable. I was surprised it was my voice as on the inside I felt as if I was going to collapse.

“No one will find you here. You’re mine now and not even that boyfriend of yours can save you” the voice said again with a hint of humour but there was nothing I found funny.

“He will come. I know he will” I told him trying not to act scared. My angry inside voice was speaking, making me sound certain and no longer scared.

“I wouldn’t be so sure” the light hit his face and an evil grin was plastered on his cunning face.

“What have you done to him?!” I shouted and running towards him ready to pounce when he just held out his hand and effortlessly pushed me forcefully to the ground about three feet away from him. My body and head slamming into the hard stone wall. If I had been any bigger than I am I sworn he would have cracked the thick stone.

A strong throbbing pain began in my head blocking all thoughts, my brain was shouting to my body but nothing could get passed the ache and sting from the heavy fall. My back felt cold and bruised while my legs still felt strong. I helped myself to my feet groaning as the pain shot up my spine leaning back against the wall I took in some uneven breaths.

“What have you done to Jake?” I ask, voice thick and coated with pain.

“I assume you are talking about your boyfriend” he smirked. I just gave him the death glare; he knew very well who I was referring to. “I haven’t done anything” I put emphasis on the ‘I’. I glowered at him.

“You know what I meant. Now tell me where he is!” I ordered angrily. But instead he just laughed.

He wasn’t answering any of my questions and it was starting to get on my nerves.

“Answer me! What do you want and what have you done with Jake?” I yell at him and he come in closer. I don’t move, keeping my ground, but when he has me pinning against the wall I wish I had. His claw like nails dug into my wrists so hard I was beginning to feel warm liquid trail down my arm. I tried to move out from his grip but he would only hold on tighter. He body was pressed against mine while my arms were up in a surrender position by my head. His low dark musky voice blew on my face as he spoke.

“I am going to use you how I wish and you’re not going to say anything. For if you do that precious boy of yours will be tortured in more ways that you will be. So if you’re smart, do everything I say with no hesitation and the boy will remained unharmed” he warned me before pressing his body further into mine. “Oh, and one more thing,” he spoke with a hint of humour in his voice that was only to please himself. “If, when I decide I’m going to let you go, you tell anyone about what has happened I will only hunt you down again and everything will be repeated” he grinned evilly but he also held a seriousness to his voice.

Trying to ignore the cuts in my wrist, the numb pain in my back, throbbing ache in my head and squashed weight-filled legs I found a breath to speak. “I’m not afraid of you” I told him while trying to convince myself as well.

“If you think that you’re not afraid of me now… then you have another thing coming precious”
